Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.

Great location. Rooms a little tired, but for the price paid amazing value. It was very clean and plenty if tea and coffee available in the room. Continental breakfast plus English breakfast available, or both. Breakfast was amazing. Evening meals were beautiful. All four of us ate a different meal, all were great. Great bar, very relaxed. Coal fire! Great traditional pub. What's not to like. Nice quiet area at the rear to lock cycles up, with a hose pipe to use for washing if required.

Was pleasantly surprised. The Bunk beds were very comfy. The showers were in great condition but lacked power. Nice white rock walling through the wash room facilities. Food smelt ace though we didn't try. I'll be returning with the Family. Great Value for money.

The grounds of this youth hostel are absolutely amazing, everything was kept spotlessly clean and the room was perfect and really warm. The free kids breakfast with each adult breakfast was great too.

The location was fantastic, very clean, friendly staff, basic but has everything you need for a cheap stay/over night pit stop, we stayed in one of the pods. Idea for cycling holiday, the lodge has a lot of history.

Grinton is a super hostel - great location, great staff, comfortable and clean facilities. We stayed in one of the camping pods, warm and cosy, all facilities nearby, paths and and grounds well lit - fell asleep to the wind whistling through the pines, woke to perfect calm. Excellent base for cycling in the Dales - from the Tan Hill Pub back to Grinton is (almost) all downhill! Also a recommend for the nearby Black Bull in Reeth for dinner and drinks - the landlord gave us a lift back to the hostel!

Great location on the market place in Reeth. The other guests were lovely and we had some nice chats. Bar food was ok, good portions and cheaper than other options.
