Beautiful old moorside hunting lodge turned hostel. Really nice spot to take a wander among the heather. There was a full kitchen available for use.they had a great selection of pamphlets and maps of the Yorkshire Dales.

Continental breakfast plus English breakfast available, or both. Breakfast was amazing. Evening meals were beautiful. All four of us ate a different meal, all were great. Great bar, very relaxed. Coal fire! Great traditional pub. What's not to like. Nice quiet area at the rear to lock cycles up, with a hose pipe to use for washing if required.

The showers were in great condition but lacked power. Nice white rock walling through the wash room facilities. Food smelt ace though we didn't try. I'll be returning with the Family. Great Value for money.

Idea for cycling holiday, the lodge has a lot of history.

We stayed in one of the camping pods, warm and cosy, all facilities nearby, paths and and grounds well lit - fell asleep to the wind whistling through the pines, woke to perfect calm. Excellent base for cycling in the Dales - from the Tan Hill Pub back to Grinton is (almost) all downhill! Also a recommend for the nearby Black Bull in Reeth for dinner and drinks - the landlord gave us a lift back to the hostel!DavidGroup
