What a relaxing and enjoyable short break at the Beresford Arms! We cannot praise this amazing accommodation and incredible dining experience highly enough. Even more impressive was the genuine warm welcome received from Josh and all his team.
We stayed in the newly completed ‘Stables Suite’, which comprised of 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, lounge and dining area with kitchenette, and bi-fold doors leading out onto a beautiful private garden. It was finished to an extremely high standard and was immaculately clean, with very comfortable beds, smart TVs, and lovely extra touches such as a coffee machine with pods provided.
We had breakfast and our evening meals in the award-winning pub restaurant. Literally every single dish we had was cooked to absolute perfection. Breakfast was cooked to order with plenty of choice, and was served piping hot. The full Northumbrian breakfast is a must!
Our evening meals were full of incredible flavours, created using quality produce, and were of an exceptional standard. We took advantage of the Wednesday steak night which offered great value. The onion rings were to die for!
Thank you for such an incredible stay in your charming and friendly village pub. We loved every minute and hope to return.

We did part of the Northumberland Coastal walk (Cresswell to Dunstanburgh) and found the locals to be very friendly. Lots of free car parks near the coast, very well sign posted and plenty of benches.

Came for the Northumbrian Gathering.
Came for the Northumbrian Gathering. It's a great event if you like folk music and dancing. Lots of local culture. Talented artists. And the town itself is very attractive. It is small enough to park and walk to all places of interest.

Secret Cottage, Morpeth (Host: Alex) Morpeth was fine but accommodation and host not so good. Reported a major fault (no lighting in the main bathroom) this was not repaired during stay and to add insult to injury the host lied about everything in response to my review of Booking.com. Please don't trust this host or give him any of your hard-earned cash as he doesn't deserve the business. He was totally unsympathetic and had a terrible attitude. He said "go ahead and report to Booking.com because at the end of the day it is up to the host if a refund is given". AVOID THIS HOST!

Morpeth is a lovely little town.
Morpeth is a lovely little town. Highlights for me were the bagpipe museum - really is great - the park and all the little shops, especially the cheese shop by the clock tower. I went in windy January on a bicycle, which was not ideal, but I still really enjoyed myself.

We were only there for one night for a family birthday so did not get the opportunity to visit all the shops in the town centre. We did go to a fantastic Italian Restaurant Lollo Rosso which served amazing food and such attentive and friendly staff.
Such a great little place to stay! Location was perfect, close to all kinds of restaurants and shops and a grocery store. The actual town was just so cute! Breakfast was delicious - fresh, homemade, yummy! Our room was so clean and cozy, with modern touches. We have been traveling Europe and the UK for almost 2 weeks and this place was definitely our favorite! If you are traveling through, it’s absolutely worth making a stop in at Morpeth and Castle View Inn!! Thanks Carmen for everything!
Super little 'cottage' located right near the centre of Morpeth. Just right for the two of us and our little dogs. The place is quirkily decorated and fairly high tech with a modern digital oven/microwave, mini dishwasher and hive controlled heating. There was a local parking permit and an area permit provided. Comfy bed and nice shower in a modern bathroom. It's a good base and late evening retreat. The owner has thought of everything.
Great to have a shower and toilet contained within the hut. Beautiful surroundings, saw a microlight and an aeroplane take off and land which was exciting (particularly for my daughter!) Outdoor seating area perfect for evenings. Owners very responsive to messaging on the app. My daughter slept happily on the sofa bed, the hut stayed nice and cosy all night.
The whole ambience of the hotel is exceptional. Clean, spacious and well equipped en-suite rooms and an outstanding restaurant with delightfully friendly staff and awesome food - both in choice & quality. The wholesome Northumbrian breakfast more that sets one up for exercise in the amazing Northumbrian countryside.
Charming cottage in a lovely, friendly village.
Great communication with the owners who resolved an issue without any fuss or hesitation.
The Village Inn pub, 3 minute walk had fantastic food, wine and real ale and accommodated 7 of us at last minute on a busy night.
All round great week 😊
Lovely team of staff. Check in easy and fast. Although the hotel is somewhat dated, the bar area is great, nice beer garden too. Room was very clean. Breakfast was good. Location fab for town - just a 3 minute walk. Will definitely stay again.
Clean and comfortable, good location and value for money. No breakfast but plenty of places to eat close by. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Booked last minute but was very happy with room etc. Very handy for Morpeth town centre.
Perfect for what we needed. We were in Morpeth for the weekend for a friends wedding. The guest house was walking distance to town and easy to come and go as we pleased.
Breakfast was great and host was very helpful and friendly.
Great Location for getting around this part of Northumberland. Excellent Breakfast. Had one Evening Dinner during our stay which was superb. Room was comfortable and well equipped. Great Place to stay for a 2 or 3 Night Break.
Beautiful accomadation extra helpful staff and amazing food and value. Loved they accomadated our two dogs from start to finished, with dog friendly rooms (a decent size too) to a dog friendly eating area.
I think that this place had the best of both worlds. The friendliness of a B+B, just the right amount but with the independence of a hotel.
The rooms are a good size and the location is perfect.
