We had the pleasure of staying three nights at The Travellers Rest with our family, and it was truly a special experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it felt more like staying with friends than at a hotel. The rooms were clean, cozy, and perfect for our family’s needs. Everything was thoughtfully arranged to make us feel comfortable and relaxed during our stay. Each morning, we enjoyed a thoughtful and delicious breakfast, lovingly prepared with a variety of options to suit everyone in the family. The attention to detail and care in each meal was something we truly appreciated. What made our stay truly unforgettable, though, was the incredible kindness and hospitality of the owner’s family. They were always ready to help with anything we needed and went out of their way to make sure we were happy and comfortable. A very special thank you to their beautiful three girls, whose warmth, smiles, and gentle presence made our visit even more memorable. They are a lovely family that we will never forget. The Travellers Rest is more than just a place to stay—it’s a place filled with heart. We’re so grateful for the experience and would absolutely love to return one day.

I stayed at the property with my two kids during our brief holiday in Srilanka. The place is cozy , clean, equipped with all necessary goods and all other facilities(banks , supermarkets , shops) in close proximity . Perfect for a home stay and kids friendly too . I made the best choice in booking Summerhouse for a weekend stay with my wife and 5 month old son! The couple, villa owners, are very nice, friendly, pleasant, and were extremely accommodating, especially to make our stay more comfortable with the little one. It’s so close to Colombo, and really is a place to get away from city living. The villa was oozing with charm… it was clean and well equipped with everything to make a very private, comfortable and enjoyable stay. And since it’s located within a larger housing scheme, we also able to use the pool and clubhouse as well, which was quite neat and also safe. Overall we loved our weekend at Summerhouse! Would definitely recommend it to friends and family! ☺️

Perfect last stay before we had to fly back home the day after. The private pool made sure we could relax. The host was very kind and helped us if we needed anything. Room was clean. Save area. Free shuttle to airport was perfect and went without a problem.

This was our first stop after a long flight. The beds were comfy and the Villa felt like home. The caretaker was wonderful and cooked a great breakfast for us in the morning. Tucked away from the main street meant it was quiet, which was nice. Great food options just a short walk away

The hosts are a very helpful and kind people. They were accomodating with what time they cooked us breakfast and took us to the airport, which were both free of charge. We stayed here for one night before our morning flight home, I highly recommend this accomodation for an airport transit stay.

However there is a minor drawback. Finding the villa can be challenging as there is no board displaying its name. Adding clear directions or a visible sign board would greatly enhance the overall experience. Overall , Tamarind villa is an excellent retreat for anyone seeking a luxurious and peaceful getaway with a touch of history.
