Located in a pedestrian area in the centre of Orleans, this hotel houses, a garden and a solarium on the hotel's top floor.The hotel is a histrorical building of the beginning of the XXth century. There is no elevator and the rooms are located on 4 different floors (there are no rooms on the ground level, only Reception and breakfast area). The staff is at you disposal to help with the luggage upon your check-in. There is no air conditioning in the building, however every room has a fan. What a gem of a hotel! A couple of minutes work from the historic city centre, with the hotel itself being a beautiful historic building. Our room was wonderful, extremely sizeable bathroom and beautiful bedroom. We stayed here for one night with our dog on our way back to the Netherlands and it was the perfect choice. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. An added bonus was that we were able to utilise underground parking in the city centre (with charging stations for our electric car), with payment for the parking being done at the hotel. This allowed us to leave a lot of our luggage from our road trip safely in the car. We didn't have the breakfast, but it looked wonderful! I will definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Orleans!

Set in an abbey dating back to the 11th century, Grand Hôtel de l'Abbaye is located in Beaugency, 24.5 km from the Chateau de Chambord. We loved the sympathetic way the Abbey had been restored and the thoughtful attention to all the detail. The bathroom was beautifully appointed and the bedroom was spacious, furnished in keeping with its historical past. We loved the rotisserie food and delicious breakfast.
