This is a superb apartment in lovely quiet alpine countryside, and Alex was an extraordinarily friendly and helpful host who immediately made us feel very welcome. The accommodation covered the entire first floor of a large country house and had been very well modernised. There was also a nice outside terrace with table and chairs, and a large balcony with lovely views. The apartment was very well equipped and each of the rooms was very spacious and extremely comfortable - a real home from home. A really superb place to stay and use as a base for exploring the wider mountains and lakes region of central Austria. Thoroughly recommended!

Choosing this hotel on short notice turned out to be a fortunate decision after our prior reservation was canceled due to bed bug concerns. The pleasantly surprising coincidence offered us a room with a breathtaking lake and mountain view at half the cost of our initial booking. The delightful breakfast spread exceeded our expectations with its delicious offerings and abundant choices. Our overall experience was extremely satisfying, proving to be excellent value for money. Grateful for this unexpected turn of events.

Amazingly restored historic building with a very relaxed and friendly, yet privacy respecting way. Common areas are beautiful and the whole place is an inspiration. Podenhaus is located comfortably in Bad Aussee in a way that it’s easy to make day-trips to nearby lakes. Bicycle rent is also nearby. Will surely be back!

We’ve been fortunate enough to stay in some of the top hotels around the world, but the experience of these chalets definitely ranked up there. The facilities within the chalet were exceptional as was the breakfast we had served to us in the morning.

The Apartmenthaus Hinterer enjoys a quiet location in Bad Goisern, a 15-minute drive from Hallstatt and a 10-minute drive from Bad Ischl.

Amazing stay in the heart of the mountains. Everything was exceptionally clean, and the host was very friendly. Loved the location, access to the garden (not fully fenced but was not an issue for us), and that they are dog friendly. The kitchen had everything you might need.
