Spacious apartment on the first floor of a beautiful and tastefully decorated villa. The apartment had all the amenities, including a well-equipped kitchen. The hosts welcomed us with a fresh avocado drink and ice cream upon arrival. They were very attentive and willing to help us with anything. The host even personally drove us to Kandy for free, where he recommended an excellent restaurant. They also invited us to their home several times, where they prepared a delicious breakfast for free and told us about local customs. They also prepared tea for us on several occasions on the roof terrace, which has a beautiful view of the surroundings. We spent 3 nights in the villa and it was a wonderful experience that we highly recommend to everyone.

This residence is exceptional. From arrival to departure all the staff were friendly willing to help and flexible. My partner and I enjoy an early coffee at our home and looked forward to something not Nescafe. Spoke to the kitchen guys, "no problem", 6am? No problem. Freshly brewed while I watched chopping of onions and grinding of fresh coconut. Nothing was a problem! Meals, hot, fresh tasty, varied. Breakfast and dinner both excellent. Nice pool liked by the children. Pretty garden. Second time in Sri Lanka and I guess I won't make it again in this life. Hopefully my children and their children will return to stay with the Surveyor's crew.

Big apartment (2rooms) with two bathrooms and big CLEAN kitchen! Breakfast was tasty and the location great - a little bit out of the center what we like and up the hill so when you wake up you see nature and hear birds! The hosts gave us a free ride to the train station and was so kind and great with giving us all the advice about pickme app and tuktuk and what to see and when. Really great stay!

This is the most beautiful homestay I’ve ever stayed at. The view, the room, the furniture – everything is absolutely stunning. But what truly made this place special was the warmth and kindness of the hosts. Punya takes care of everything with so much thoughtfulness, and Ravi is not only a great cook but also incredibly caring. I got quite sick during my stay, and they not only took me to the doctor but also cooked for me and looked after me with genuine care. I’m deeply grateful and can recommend this place to everyone. It truly felt like home.

Service: ★★★★★ The staff at Kandy River Lodge provided exceptional service throughout our stay. Special mention goes to the reservation manager, Mr. Sashika, who went above and beyond by offering complimentary transportation to the train station - a thoughtful gesture we weren’t expecting! Overall Experience: ★★★★★ Kandy River Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way. The serene riverside setting provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. Despite its unassuming exterior, the interior experience was outstanding. Final Thoughts This hotel offers a surprisingly tranquil experience that you wouldn’t anticipate from the outside. The combination of the beautiful location, comfortable accommodations, and exceptional service made for a memorable stay.
