The place is amazing! And the service as well! The host made sure we had everything we needed, even though many stores were closed due to the full moon.

We had an incredible stay at Aloft View. The staff are really friendly and Lakmali is just wonderful. She gave us great tips on where to go and what to do. Such great value for money.

Perfect location, great views, near railways, so you can see the trains passing by. In 7 minutes you can walk to Ella. The other way on the railway will bring you to the waterfall en Ella Rock. When you just passed the trainbridge, go down, and ask the women for guiding you to a beautiful viewpoint. On your own its difficult to find. Breakfast is good. The caretaker Lashman is gentle and tells a lot of things to visit/to do. From were you will have breakfast, the view uphill is lovely, looks like a jungle. We parked our tuktuk just across the railway.

Lovely little hideaway. The owner kindly arranged for a tuk tuk to collect us from the train station.The cottage was so homely and well equipped with everything you might need. We loved the veranda where you could relax and enjoy the quiet view down to Ella. It was really cool to see the trains coming along the line as well ( there aren't that many trains!) The owners wife cooked us dinner and breakfast - both meals were traditional Sri Lankan and really delicious. This property is a real gem if you like an authentic and home from home experience.

The view... just wow. At day we enjoyed the sound of peacocks and looking at the monkeys and squirels running in the trees. At night the sound of the wildlife and looking at the fireflies around the tree. Amazing breakfast and a super friendly host who helped with driver to sights but also to our next destination. A recommendation for a trip. Go to organic tea garden just 2,3 km down the road instead of tea factory. You will not be dissapointed. He gives a tour in the garden (tea plants, spices plants, fruit trees, Coffee trees and a lot more). He shows how different tea is made, and he gives tea tasting. So much value for the money.
