Beautiful Canarian style buildings in the 'old' town and lovely plazas. Plenty of good restaurants (we loved Arcon Tapas, Bambi Gourmet, La Taperia, Restaurant Herreria to name but a few). Easy access to other areas by buses. Good walking routes close by. Fantastic rugged coastline with crashing waves. Weekends can be a bit busy, even in winter (February/March). Loro Parque is a must.

Its peaceful and tranquillity although we did travel in February. Weather was hot with lovely breeze. Found a lovely little spanish burger bar Tui Burgers, very reasonably priced, friendly staff and lovely food. We hired a car as it was around an hours drive from villa to Siam Water Park and Mount Teide and 15mins drive to Lorro Parque. Both the Park & Lorro were busy even in February - would imagine they get overcrowded in summer months. Great place and would definitely go back.

This is not a bump bump music town it is for couples and families. There is a good contrast between old town and new. There is a mild surfer's beach at one end and a black sand beach at the other with the old town and harbour in-between. There is a good mix of shops and restaurants. It is flat walk right along the the water front. There are several parks to sit and relax in.
La Fragata at the old harbour is a great pub that also does coffee.

There are beautiful views, with beautiful black sand beaches and banana trees. The ocean from the north side of Tenerife is way too aggressive 🥲 with great waves and no possibility to swim.
The only tourist attraction is Loro park. Siam park and whale watching is on another side of the island. Though the prices for accommodation are pretty acceptable here.

I first visited P de la Cruz in 2005.
I first visited P de la Cruz in 2005. The town has become much more prosperous & international in the intervening two decades with many well known retail brands now well established here.
End of January/early February must be popular because we found the town crowded at every hour of the day or night. However, it is spotlessly clean and the new floral Avenue from the shopping centre to the Harbour/seaside is a welcome addition. I also appreciated the attractive new statue of the fisher girl selling her wares with a basket of octopus balanced on her head. (see photos).
Staff in cafes are polite and friendly. Prices are reasonable.
Food appears to be only average but we ate well at the Semiramis hotel.
The weather is idyllic; never too hot and often a fresh breeze blowing. Small wonder Tenerife is known as the Island of Eternal Spring.
Puerto, on NW coast of the island, receives a little more rain than other parts but has been suffering from a lack of precipitation in recent years. However, the abundance of colourful vegetation hasn't suffered unduly & the Botanic Gardens in La Paz are a shaded paradise of exotic greenery. Very restful & well worth visiting. (see photo of the Lily Pond there).
Finally.. did you know Agatha Christie was a resident here in 1927? (See photo : a selection of her book titles on a flight of steps in the old town). Every 2nd year there's a festival of plays and films in her honour...the centenary year is now only 3 years distant!

This is not a beach resort even though it has a few black sand beaches. It is primarily a resort for enjoying the superb surroundings, views and climate. It is pleasant to stroll around the resort. Bear in mind that it does rain here quite often which is why it is so green and verdant.

The hotel is very comfortable, the staff is kind and helpfull. A lovely pool with great staff as well. A nice walk into town (some stairs bring you downtown), in 8 minutes you enter the city centre of Puerto de la Cruz. The hotel is located in a beautiful and quiet area next to a lovely park where people fo yoga and walk their dogs in the morning. Also the rooms offer great view over Puerto de la Cruz. We slept really well as well, a nice breeze amd climate in our room and good beds. Also a clean bathroom.
Located in Northern Tenerife's green environment, outer the big parties and festivals, HC Hotel Magec offers you a lovely place to stay with a great value for the money. I got a qualitative room service every day. The senior lady in the restaurant was very kind to me at every meal, she is a really gold-hearted hostess. Both breakfast and dinner are continental-type with a wide variety of popular (and sometimes local) food with smart spicing. I definitely would return.
Place looks exactly like on photos. Its cosy place with wonderful view on ocean. You have to eat breakfast on this tarace looking at sea. Room is clean and well prepared with basic equipment.
This place is close enough to a restaurant or shops and in quiet resident in back.
Owner- Antonio is absolutly warm and helpfull. You should meet him and visit his apartament.
For sure when we come to Tenerife next time we spend there some time. Ratio quality/ price top!
The staff was really friendly and helped us out with a map of things to see. The rooms were clean however the bathrooms seemed a little bit old. If you are looking for a modern and fancy apartement Pez azul is probably not the right choice. For us who were just looking for a cheap accomodation in Puerto de la Cruz we did not regret our stay. The kitchen comes with everything you need. The only thing that was missing was a little bit of soap to wash your dishes.
Definitely exceptional. Super clean, quiet, comfy, with an amazing location in the historic center of the best city in Tenerife. The pool is heated by sun, and may be a little bit chilly in winter...But this wasn't an issue, and I booked thrice already during my visit to Canary Island. Oh, I forgot: the value for money is stunning 👍
The breathability in the room with the huge windows open was refreshing. I did have several questions during my stay, and the host was immediately responsive. I came on a cycling trip, and Puerto de La Cruz is a nice location for cycling, but note that this norther city get a bit more rain than the southern cities.
Actually this was our best all inclusive experiences ever! Have not met before so professional hotel crew! Smiles, greats, helps to fix all your problems and makes you feel like most important person in world! Food and drinks was excellent, top quality! Definitely we will come back later this year!
A nice aparthotel close to the beach and Loroparque at walking distance. We went there by bus from Airport Tenerife norte and the busstop is right behind the hotel, great! A good place to visit Puerto de la Cruz. There are many restaurants, bars and shops all around. Very lifely area.
We were looking for a hotel with halfboard for a good price with no special facilities, as we planned to take trips to major Tenerife attractions and this hotel absolutely served our purpose. The staff at the reception and in the restaurant was wery helpful and kind.
Firstly our local representative MR Kisa was astounding and exceptional in his immediate responses to our few questions.
The property is located right in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz and has absolutely everything you could possibly need. 10 Stars ********
This was my second time I have stayed in Hotel Marte this year. It is an excellent choice, very close to the centre of Puerto de la Cruz, as well as to the Bus Station, with very good breakfast, amazing and friendly staff and magic atmosphere :-}
Amazing apartment, best we have ever stayed in on Tenerife. So modern and clean with the best views and sound of the ocean as you fall asleep. Tiziana great host, easy communication and good advice on places to eat.
Great location in the city center. The staff was very helpful, and the breakfast was huge with a lot of variety. The hotel offers a lot of extra services, like shows and tours. I would recommend staying here!
Everything, staff, facilities, comfort, location.
Cannot believe this is a 2star hotel.. shower is excellent
Luggage drop off no problem.
Hope to be back Next November for a longer stay.
Highly recommend.
