Beautifully refurbished with a smart yet relaxed feel.
Grindleford is a lovely place. There are some nice walks hereabouts and the railway station (Grindleford) is across the road - and down the drive - with links to Hathersage, Hope and Edale in one direction and to Sheffield in the other.

It is a good location for exploring north Derbyshire but a car is essential to get to interesting locations quickly.
The actual village of Grindleford only consists of a few houses along the main road.
Our hiking days are in the past so we restricted ourselves to Buxton,, Bakewell, Chatsworth and the villages from Hathesage along to Castleton and also Eyam.
Try to choose a long hot, dry summer for this hilly area!

Lovely hotel with friendly staff and excellent choice of breakfast. Bedroom smaller than anticipated and would not book this size again. Roman blind would not go up and staff removed string when reported which we were unaware of until we tried to pull it up the following day. Dirty cushion on bed replaced when we reported. However, overall, we would be happy to recommend hotel.

Graham was excellent, so friendly and welcoming. Great location, free parking, hotel was very clean, lovely views from the garden and the back of the hotel. The bedrooms and bathroom was very clean and shower was nice. On our first night we ate at the restaurant, food was excellent.
It was a really lovely little hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We were up in a room in the attic which was absolutely lovely, clean and spacious. The bathroom was also clean and we were provided with 2 lovely big bath sheets, not the usual tiny little hotel towels.
Overnight stay for our anniversary. We stayed in the Don Bradman suite, beautiful and spacious with a very large bed!
Hotel was clean and welcoming, staff were fantastic and the food delicious.
Nice location with outside terrace and good views.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Had previously been to the hotel for a meal and seeing the lovely building wanted to come back and stay, we weren’t disappointed. Staff very welcoming, room had nice touches such as radio, beautifully decorated. Restaurant staff very helpful, menu and food very good.
Breakfast was lovely and adapted the menu for my taste. Plenty and good quality. Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us and made the dog very welcome. Times of breakfast was not too early and went on for a good length of time.
Such a welcoming stay in a totally different hotel to what I'm used to. Heritage of the place a major feature. Sir William, in his suit of armour overlooking breakfast was the main feature! Staff very welcoming and helpful. Good parking.
