The warm ambiance is further enhanced by local artists' paintings adorning the walls. The place is absolutely beautiful. By far one of the nicest hotels I've been in. Every detail is well thought of, and the location near Takayama Old city is great.

Free Wi-Fi is provided at the lounge. We keep coming back. The building has a great atmosphere, very welcoming. Very helpful personal. Spotlessly clean. And the onsen is great for soaking away jetlag. Close enough to Hakone for a daytrip.

There is a coffee shop, and a minimarket is also available. The ryokan is located in a geothermal area, with a number of hot springs nearby for guests to relax in.

Guests can also relax in the shared lounge area. Beautiful location. The young man looking after us and our room was absolutely amazing. The staff were very flexible about us needing to change the breakfast time. Highly recommend.

The property also provides free pick-up service from JR Takayama Station. Free shuttle bus service is available when check-in, check-out, after dinner. Our host went out of his way to make our stay the best. He drove us around, made reservations, shipped our suitcases, and was always available to help us out. The breakfasts were both beautiful and delicious. The property is very special and was clearly cared for in a loving way. We couldn’t ask for a better host than Tai.
