Very good experience, highly recommend this place!

We were on a 2-week trip in Iceland for my hubby's 50th birthday and this was his favourite place. I don't think they knew it was his birthday but they treated us better than anywhere else. It is an impeccably-furnished, totally gorgeous historical guesthouse with wonderful staff, food and warmth. Our room was small but perfect and breakfast was delicious. The town itself is really lovely. Make sure you pre-book Sjavarpakkhusid (kind of opposite) restaurant for dinner - it was also glorious (see photos). This was a high class, boutique hotel. Small, remote and basic, but well worth the stay. The staff was wonderful and the food - high end cuisine. I can’t say enough good about this stay. Highly recommend.
