Comfortable, excellent view of the river, great location close to the train station, amazing onsen facilities (tattoo-friendly) and the cherry on the top was the private onsen on our room. Lots of attention on the details. We were super satisfied with it all.

I loved the Fujiya so much that I thought to myself “next time you come to Japan, you’re spending your entire stay there”. This was the first time I was traveling solo, so obviously some blunders were expected—the worst of which was me forgetting my backpack on the bus! I was near tears, because I can’t speak a word of Japanese, but the receptionist at Fujiya quickly helped me call the bus company and located the bag! The concierge then arranged for a taxi to take me to and from the station to retrieve it on the same day. I was honestly amazed at the service and how kind all the staff were. The room itself was stunning. Mine was in the Forest Wing, overlooking the forest side of the hotel (which made for a stunning view to wake up to!). But although the room and en suite bath were absolutely lovely, the star of the show was definitely the Onsen. I tried both the breakfasts (Western and Japanese) at The Main Dining Room and Kikka-So, and the staff in both were so attentive when I informed them I couldn’t have pork or alcohol. It’s always something I’m hesitant to bring up at hotels, but they honestly went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and I couldn’t be more grateful for that! All in all, would give more than 10 stars if I could.

The hot spring was wonderful. We had our own ooen air bath in our room (though this wasn't a hot spring bath), and there were two public baths to use, as well as 3 private baths that anyone could use if they were available. It's really nice to have the option. The food was incredible! We had the grill and it was amazing. There are many courses, so make sure you're hungry before you go for food! 😄 The staff are also really helpful and will talk you through everything. They even provide a "how to use a hot spring" leaflet, which is great for newcomers who aren't sure! And the surrounding location is really pretty. I recommend going to Lake Ashi. And you may wajt to purchase the Hakone day pass too😊

The rooms at Kinnotake Tonosawa comes with a private hot spring bath. They also include a coffee machine. The hotel has free WiFi, and a terrace.

From the moment we pulled up to the hotel to the moment we left, our stay at Kinnotake was pure bliss. I would book this again in a heart beat.

Fukuzumiro features an authentic Japanese atmosphere, natural hot spring baths and traditional Japanese-style rooms with garden or river views. It's a 15-minute walk from Hakone Yumoto Station.
