The owners were so friendly and welcoming, both when we arrived and throughout our stay. The room was great, had everything we needed and breakfast was nice. Perfect for a stop-over.

Entrance is down a dirt track to an electric gate, which we first thought was the wrong entrance. There is no bell to ring so contact over booking.com.
Hosts are very friendly, lighting the BBQ if they know you want on and letting you share their dogs and donkeys.
Note, this is a working farm in South Africa so have animals and two large, very friendly dogs. If dogs are not your thing then this is not your place but as a comfortable base (we stayed for a couple of nights after a long flight) we found that this was idea.

This stopover was so unexpectedly wonderful. We arrived smack in the middle of lambing season and got to walk through the fields with baby lambs frolicking all around us. The cottage itself was just what we needed--well equipped with comfortable beds and sofas. The high ceilings make it feel light and spacious. 10/10 would stay here again.

The comfort waas excellent in a way that you'd feel you were staying at the hotel. Furthermore, the food was awesome, room service was promptly in a ridiculous way. All in all it was exciting stay. Thank u khayalami

The gentleman who helped us with the check in and check out was very informative about everything, the privacy we had was great. Not to mention the cleanliness of the pool even though it was abit windy.
Freezing when we arrived in town, rooms had electric blankets which were great. Restaurant was a total suprise, superb food with steaks being cooked on open fire. Lovely curry - good service

Too many potholes inside the town, not good for a car safety.
Nothing to write home about for the place and duration of my stay.
Seemed safe place though if one wants a quite place to relax.
Lots of familiar shops similar to ones in big towns.

Whilst it is a pleasant little town, there's nothing to do in Chrissiesmeer, so you should ONLY stop overnight, if you have other things to do there, maybe attend a wedding at the nearby wedding venues, have family who live there or are maybe running late on your journey thru, and just need a quick bed for the night. Chrissiesmeer is not a holiday destination.....
There is a very nice little restaurant, for dinner. The shopping includes a very rustic little shop which contains a tiny selection of many things ranging from groceries to veges to kichenware and basic hardware. There is also a liquor store, butchery and fuel station. That's basically all.
Watch out for the cows, they walk around on the roads.

Ermelo is a beautiful town we often drive through and visit. Shopping experience is great, with all you need, at any of the numerous shopping centres and malls. Great outdoor activities available for the adventure lovers.
