This was our first trip to Destin.
This was our first trip to Destin. The beaches are beautiful and not over crowded. There were many great places to eat, we enjoyed Parlor Donuts, Beignet and Brews, Lulus, and the Backporch. Also great shopping. We did a lot school clothes shopping while we were there. Both Destin Commons and Destin Outlets had great stores. We also went to the Gulfarium and our girls did the Penguin Encounter which was a lot of fun for them. They advertise for breakfast but they never served any.
They advertise for breakfast but they never served any. You aren't allowed to even get coffee until 6:30 and even then, they only make three pots. So if you miss out, you just miss out. They also advertise for a pool and you cant swim in it. There's no hair dryer. Prostitutes hang out and knock on the doors at all hours of the night. We booked a 2 bed 4 person room and they only gave us ome bed and then when we asked for a double bed, it was going to be a $100 upcharge. We asked for a cancellation after being told it would be free and still told us we would have to pay for the first night. They double charged me and when I asked for it to be fixed they told me that I had to take it up with my bank. They also wont give you a receipt until after you check out. The sheets were severely stained and the fromt desk staff was not friendly. We will never stay there again nor would we advertise for it.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

I like that no one can give us extra towels and paper towels. Really bad room services. I would never book there again at, rather reside at Sandestin. The beaches are beautiful! Stewby’s Seafood Shanty was our favorite place to eat. The best potato salad I’ve ever had and the grilled grouper was great too! You have to make the 12 minute drive to Destin and try the donuts at the Donut Hole. They also serve a sit down breakfast! If you want something fancier try Boshamps and ask for outdoor seating. Nice setting on a marina! A little pricey but well worth it! They do have a water park for the kids and an airplane museum for the husbands! They have some nice shops in Fort Walton or take the kids to Alvin’s for a souvenir from your trip!Guest review byVickie - 10.0

The area was clean and safe. Even though we were there during the high season and there were a lot of people around, everyone was polite and respectful of your space. We had a wonderful meal at the Old Florida Fish House. We went early and had called ahead for reservations. We should have spent more time on the beach in the evenings! Destin was absolutely beautiful.
Destin was absolutely beautiful. The water was clear the sand was white and soft, like play Sand. There’s a lot of things to do there. I highly recommend doing the helicopter tour or even going to Fudpuckers(definitely go to goodwill). We had other experience there and other dining experiences that are highly recommended, but I can’t fit everything into this review. My only cons were that while the jellyfish were nice to look at, I did get stung several times. Overall the place is a 10 out of 10. I can’t wait to be back.Guest review byJoeUnited States - 10.0

Fort Walton Beach wasn't as crowded as Panama City Beach. We enjoyed our stay and the proximity to restaurants and souvenir shops. We enjoyed eating at The Crab Trap nearby; which also had souvenir shops in the same building. Stewby's Seafood Shanty was directly across the road from where we stayed and the food was wonderful! Beautiful. However, I do feel that the people who do the rental of chairs and umbrellas take up the entire private beach leaving no room for people who bring their own chairs and umbrellas. They are very expensive and that is really unfair - - - a racket!Guest review byAnonymous
