The staff is outstanding! Henia, Mikeala, Jimmy and Jackson did their best to help us with all our organisational matters. They kept part of our luggage on storage when when came back after a week at the Sepik so we could repack and meet the low baggage allowance (16kg) of Air Nuigini for domestic travel. They alos organized trips to the nearby plateau and to the Ela Beach craft market and made sure we always got there and back safely. Also when flights are cancelled (we always managed to go the next day though, things have somewhat improved again) they took good care of us and the short shuttle time to the airport is a big plus. Whenever we needed anything extra they spared no effort to provide us with what we needed. Also a big thank you to the restaurant team - great breakfast and your service is really enjoyable! Once we have saved enough money again we will be back to Papua -and guess where we will stay in Port Morseby?! Hope you guys all are still there then. Christian & Oliver from Germany

The staff, especially Lucy, was AMAZING. They arranged for a taxi to pick my wife up at 5:00 a.m. in the dark. She doesn't speak English, but they always went the extra mile to help her. When she needed PNG Kina cash across the street, the staff put on another layer of clothing over their uniforms to escort her to get cash from the ATM. They took het to buy a SIM card, to Western Union, and The High Commission of The Solomon Islands. They arranged a taxi for her and an airport employee on her day off to go sightseeing for a day for only 80 Kina ($28), WAY less than Local Guides that wanted to charge me $300/day. They never left her in a quiet corner of the hotel or grounds on her own. They even arranged to take her to the airport at the unreasonable hour of 4:30 a.m. this morning. She couldn't camp out there over night. The airport closes at night and doesn't re-open until 3:00 a.m., I have NEVER seen a hotel go THAT far out of their way to take care of a guest. Absolutely amazing considering it is the 2nd cheapest hotel in Port Moresby and only 1.2 km from the airport. I can not more highly recommend a hotel anywhere in the world for customer service and that is after I have been to 170+ countries!

Tufi is absolutely a beautiful place to have a holiday. Staying here brings you great peace of mind cuz the friendly staff make everything in order routinely even there are not too many guests. The management team, Jana and Thomas, arranged variable activities to enrich your spare time. Jana was not only a good manager, but also my diving guide when I did scuba diving there. You also have enough spare time to stay alone or with your mates and no rush on offered activities. The beach is amazing snorkelling is interesting and everything in Tufi is like its name paradise.

Overall is good to me. The staffs are very helpful, friendly. Weather is good. Convenience for me to go to the island with transport provided. Food need to be improved. If possible can add some more menu so that we have more choices for asian. Food too salty, cannot fix my taste. Room view is satisfy to me. Enjoy very much of the stay.

It would be good if breakfast was included given the high rates charged for the rooms per night. I was disappointed breakfast wasn't included with the accommodation. I mostly likely to book in a hotel that includes accommodation with breakfast next time I am in POM

Despite the various overhyped negativity painted by the media daily, the city is actually safe, friendly and can be enjoyable. Accommodation-wise, for high budget travelers, Stanley Hotel, Airways, and Hilton are recommended. Loloata Island resort is also a luxurious choice. Medium ranged budget travelers can opt for Ela Beach Hotel, Gateway Hotel & Apartments, Holiday Inn apartments or one or the premier rooms. Airways, Hilton and Stanley hotels have delicious menus of local and international dishes served on breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets daily. As well as that, the Vision City mega mall, Rangeview mall, or Waterfront or Foodworld shops have variety of fresh and processed food choices available for those that prefer cooking their own meals. The Boroko or Gordans main markets are your choice for fresh local produce. Local taxis are generally preferred cheap mode of transport from point, otherwise it is recommended to get a hire car and driver (if you are not familiar with the city roads). A general Google search can list down various hire car services. Depending on type of vehicle, daily rates average around AUD$150/day for a decent car. Again, despite the continuous bad portrayal of the city and its residents, it is in fact much more safer than assumed. The locals tend to not bother tourists/visitors as much, however there are a few bad apples here and there (as you would expect from a rapidly growing city rife with uncontrolled urban drift and population growth), hence to be on the safe side, avoid walking on foot around specific suburbs (Erima, Gordons, Morata) at night.
