- From US$354.50 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 3,658 reviewsWe stayed just one night at the cottage. The cottage was somewhat easy to find by car and it was well-located. The view of the lake and mount Fuji was beautiful, especially in the morning. The check-in was quick and the host kind and spoke good English. The cabin was very big and warm and had all the ameneities needed. It was clean and the beds were comfy. The kitchen was very complete in terms of cutlery, plates, etc. We got one with an open bath which was such a treat! The weather was really cold in January (-7 degrees) and I went to the open bath at night but the water was very warm and I had a very relaxing time. I would stay here again.Guest review byBiasnNetherlands
- From US$247.48 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 112 reviewsThe most thoughtful and kind staff we've met in Japan yet. The room had the most comfy beds and high quality, eco friendly amenities, and a amazing view of Yamanashi and Mount Fuji. The hotel is very charming and has an ample public bath with many shower heads and the best massage machine I've ever used (¥100 each 5 min). If you plan to visit the nearby Hottarakashi onsen, the staff will kindly lend you towels and schedule a taxi (it cost around ¥3000 the round trip). My husband and I stayed for only one night, but we wish we'd stayed at least 3 nights to enjoy more of Fruits Park. Will definitely come back!!Guest review bycinthiaBrazil

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 36 reviewsFor a single room it was fairly spacious compared to other single rooms I've had before. The whole bathroom is higher which is a little weird but not a problem, maybe if you're elderly this would be an issue, otherwise the room was fine, comfy bed.Guest review byKellyAustralia

Everything about Fujikawaguchiko is just perfect.
Everything about Fujikawaguchiko is just perfect. Nice town, beautiful view of Mt Fuji. For an outdoor enthusiast, this town is perfect. It got mountains, nice enough for day hike. it got caves, lakes, old tunnel turn into a museum, ropeway, halal restaurant. I just love Fujikawaguchiko and its beauty.Guest review byZelaMalaysia - 10.0
I recommend staying.
I recommend staying. I wrote a long review separately which I hope is useful; please refer to that. In addition, for young children, you can visit the sheep shed where they keep the sheep to see sheep up close, wander down and the up the hill behind reception, and get the best tasting soft serve ever from the restaurant!Guest review byDavinosJapan - 10.0

Lake Yamanaka is such a pretty place - Mt. Fuji never showed her face during our stay for the icon lake photos but it didn’t take away from the magic. The little town just 20 mins away by bus from our domes was super cute, filled with history, culture, and more shopping.Guest review byElizabethUnited States - 8.0
We really enjoyed the place, but it was a bit dead midweek.
We really enjoyed the place, but it was a bit dead midweek. There were some tourists, but not very many. It was good to have a car to explore. We went to -Kofu Castle Ruins (peak bloom time!) -Yamanashi Fruit Park -Maglev Exhibition Center We ate at -TREE Anthony's Kitchen (AMAZING Greek Food) -Kaosen Thai (eh)Guest review byPena - 10.0

Hokuto is a bit of an off-the-beaten-track destination, perfect for a weekend or even 3 or four days. Surrounded by beautiful nature, it's a great place for hikers - since it's located at the base of the Yatsugatake mountain range. The adventurers can go explore the hiking trails and waterfalls, but also there are charming cafes, art galleries and international cuisine restaurants splattered in the area. I would avoid going there by car on a Saturday morning, because the Chuo Express Road gets packed and it may take up to six hours to get there from Tokyo (the normal is 2 hours). So if you can, go on a weekday.Guest review byVillageOneJapan - 8.0

Automatic check-in & check-out process, good point for those who love automation. There is always staff supporting this step. Breakfast is disappointing, has limited options, no fresh fruits. Close to the station and good noise isolation.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
The place was amazing.
The place was amazing. The people of Fujikawaguchiko were friendly and helpful. The landscape and nature was beautiful. From biking around the lake, walking to the waterfall and hiking on the trails it was wonderful. Although tourists ourselves, I wish those visiting would be better examples to the countries they represent.Guest review byHeidiAustralia - 10.0

We stayed for just one night to have the amazing view and cheaper hostel prices. One night in yamanakako, one night in kawaguchico, is perfect. Yamanakako is quieter and less touristy, which is exactly what we wanted. However, the bus schedule limits how many places you can go cuz they come every 1 hrGuest review byLiCanada - 10.0

If you are looking to escape from tourist areas and visit the country side of Japan? Then this place is it! There is hot springs everywhere and it is near Mt Fuji so tons of mountains around. Incredibly serene and quieter than areas like Hakone. ( Hakone is VERY beautiful but tons of tourist)Guest review byElianaUnited States
