The place is located in a little Onsen town full of chalets and covered in snow, it’s litterally like in a fairytale. I had a dorm but since the place wasn’t busy I had a room to myself. The room was super cozy and really warm, so really confortable. Contacting the host was super easy through the app, they are quickly replying and are making sure everything is allright, all the time. The onsen was a big plus, I really enjoy relaxing in it after a long day skiing. Also, the breakfast was amazing and when I told them I was vegetarian they adjust the menu for me. Comfortable- the beds were so comfy. There was a gorgeous fire that you could sit around on an evening and enjoy your own food and drinks. They also had a lovely dinner and breakfast area. Kazu and his family were so unbelievably accommodating!!! Picking us up from the station and taking us into town when one of my friends was injured. Ski hire was easy and cheap through the hotel link. We also got discounted lift passes through the hotel voucher. All staff at the hotel were amazing. Miyu and Kimi are so friendly and helpful and are happy to help with transfers from Myoko. Located a short walk (although up a bit of a hill but good to get you warmed up for the day) away from the main part of town, Japow House provided a comfortable place to rest after a day up the mountain. Their new showers are amazing and were so nice to come back to after a day at the snow. Brekky was delicious, nutritious and varied each day, rooms were comfy, warm, spacious. Myoko is an incredible region of fun, the mountains offer heaps of ski resorts with fantastic runs, lessons, places to dine and sit with a hot beverage or refreshen beer or sake. Its wonderful for both families and those who are daring to hit the slopes for thrills. The hotel shuttles, local buses and taxis make travel from resort to various slopes, very easy. The snow in Myoko is otherworldly.
The snow in Myoko is otherworldly. The powder is unimaginably great and really loved visiting Seki Onsen Ski Area. It's a small, family-owned ski area run by the Inoue Family who are the kindest and most hospitable people you'll find anywhere in Japan. Family-owned and run ski areas are in decline with large corporations buying up ski areas across Japan, so it was a real treat to ski at an area where the snow was perfect and you're supporting a local business. 10 our 10 for Seki Onsen Ski Area!Guest review byAaronUnited States - 10.0

Ski areas vary considerably in the area. Akakura Onsen has absolutely the worst lifts i have experienced in Japan. When they weren't broken down they were extremely slow. On the other hand Suginohara has a new gondola and modern 'high' speed lifts. This was the pick of the mountains to ski for me.Guest review byAnonymous
