- From $292.50 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 128 reviewsWe found everything was great here, the room, the private and public hot bath; the food and the staff. The location of Ryokan Yoshidaya is excellent. It is close to the river where it has a road of sakura. We had a perfect walk in the morning and the view was absolutely gorgeous. We stayed at Worikara, a villa just a stone's throw away from its main ryokan and a perfect place for us to relax and unwind after a day's hike. We liked the breakfast and the dinner which were rich in varieties and taste. Finally, we must give credits to the staff who served us. They were friendly, helpful and patient to answer our questions. The translation system in the mobile phones they were using was perfect to break the language barrier and in fact, some of the staff who served us spoke excellent English. Our only regret was that we had no time to visit its cafe. We would definitely stay at this ryokan again when we visit Fukuoka again next year.Guest review bychi keungHong Kong
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 530 reviewsThe very best Ryokan, I've ever stayed in. The staffs were friendly and very helpful. Room was super comfy with a private outdoor bath, very spacious. There were 10 private onsens to choose from, which required no reservation, and also public onsens situating indoor and outdoor to enjoy. The buffet breakfast and especially dinner were outstanding with a great variety, including beef yakiniku, steaks, free-flow beers, what a delicacy! Worth every Yen spent. There were also gashapons, claw machine games, table tennis to enjoy, and a small mini mart to shop from. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Definitely with recommend this place, and will visit again, cheers!Guest review byNattineeThailand
- From $216.72 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 140 reviewsAn unexpected highlight of my vacation. After a long day of hikes around the Ebino Plateau I was really looking forward to this hotel, and it exceeded my expectations by far. I was greeted by a cordial receptionist who graciously took my luggage and gave a tour of the facilities. The large onsen baths here are amazing and it's great to be able to try so many different baths in a single facility. Dinner was nothing short of exquisite and was very filling--not to mention, the breakfast buffet was amazing! I really wished I had stayed longer here.Guest review byCodyUnited States

I spent most of time visiting other parts of Kyushu ie Saga Prefecture, Kumomoto Prefecture and Kagoshima, Munakata and Oshima Island. For my next trip will spend more time in Fukuoka. I took a bus tour to have a view of the city. The first half was interesting, going over the famous bridge and seeing the waterfront. But the second half was boring. Just looking at traffic.Guest review byMargaret Ai Ling - 10.0

I came for the One Piece statues but I honestly loved the entire vibe of Kumamoto. The transit system was easier to navigate than I expected, and locals were very nice in offering to take pictures of us at the statues! I was also really impressed with the Kumamoto revival project details and how they specifically placed the crew members in places that needed aid but were relevant to the character. As we traveled to each statue, I was amazed at how gorgeous Kumamoto was, like a scene out of a Studio Ghibli movie. It was magical and I wished I had planned to stay longer since I couldn't see all the statues.Guest review byRaveendraraj - 8.0

It's a spa town with a lot of history and a very energetic red-light district. Lots of money being invested in new tall buildings in the centre of the business district that don't quite jive with the otherwise laid-back (if you'll pardon the expression) atmosphere of the town. Attractive coastline and tall mountains as the backdrop.Guest review bydavidJapan - 10.0
Kagoshima in winter - Feb - can be very cold.
Kagoshima in winter - Feb - can be very cold. Food here is great and the Satsuma Japanese wonderful. Black is a lucky color in Kagoshima thus the my son's Rebnise basketball team wears black at home games. Taxis are always available at stations and it is not far from anywhere. A day trip to Ibuski's sand baths is recommended - on fine days. Plenty of public natural mineral water onsens are available. Shiroyama's has a fantastic view .The ferry ride and Rainbow Onsen on Sakurajima is great.Guest review byJohn CantorAustralia - 10.0
We got one day pass for the buses.
We got one day pass for the buses. It was so easy and very convenient to go and see places. We explore the city by changing the buses. The places of interest were in walking distance from the bus stops; Peace Park, Urakami Catholic Church, Basilica OURA ( UNESCO ), Glover garden, Megane Bridge and much more. With the City bus you can not go outside the city.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Not a great deal to do or see in Oita.
Not a great deal to do or see in Oita. The castle ruins holds some interest. A very friendly man in a temporary office in the car park helpfully explained more about the castle and it's moats. Could use Oita as a base for visiting Beppu if you can't get accommodation there By train it's only 280 yen and 12 minutes away.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Really great seaside town with a large American influence due to the military base in town. The food was great and the night scene lovely as well, though I wish I had more time to visit the Bio Park - will plan to go next time! Haus Ten Bosch was a really unique experience and I'm glad I went!Guest review byAnyaUnited States
