It was snowing and we bathed in the onsen and I was very thankful for the whole experience of just being able to witness snow falling while my body bathed in that wonderful onsen. Then there's the food, the food is amazing! I have never eaten Japanese food like that. The taste and the combination of flavors just really left us in awe. It was a really nice meal and we appreciate that the dining tables were separated from each guest which made the whole setting a bit more private. Then there's the rooms. You have this huge room that I think would be better if we had a bigger family, but I do love that it has this area where you can view the river and the snow and just drink tea. The heater worked wonderfully and we didn't feel cold at all. I do love that it is also full tatami in the hotel and we walked around in assigned slippers throughout the place. We stayed for 8 days in Tokyo but based ourselves at 1 Hotel...
We stayed for 8 days in Tokyo but based ourselves at 1 Hotel. In hindsight I would move about to experience more of the neighborhoods, selecting Hotels near the Yaminoto train loop. We have stayed at a Nikko Hotel and it was first rate so I would look at that chain for accommodation. Once we mastered the ticket machines, we found the train system easy to navigate and we explored many different parts of Tokyo. We also did our own trip to Lake Kowaguchiko by train to see Mt Fuji, which was easily done. One thing to note when using Shinkansen trains and the Tokyo Stations, you need to put in all of the tickets you are given into the station gates to exit the station or the barriers won’t open.Guest review byElaineAustralia - 10.0

We stayed at the Hilton Yokohama which was close to a nice waterfront area, Chinatown, Children's museum and K-arena, a baseball stadium, modern, large shopping stores that were local, not touristy. Chiba is an amazing city and because Star Wars Celebration...
Chiba is an amazing city and because Star Wars Celebration 2025 was held there this year, I had to come and visit. The city is only about an hour away from Tokyo and going there from Chiba was easy to do. Locally speaking, Chiba offers many different places to eat (some of the best donuts I've ever had came from a donut shop called Uni Donuts close to the hotel I stayed at) and a cool Anime hobby store.Guest review byOliver - 10.0

The Toshugo shrine was amazing and well worth the trip. If you travel on to Takayama I recommend seeing the one tenth scale model of the shrine complex which is almost unbelievable in its detail and precision. Nikko is quite a sleepy town and many restaurants shut very early so I recommend making a reservation. The Nikko pass is worth purchasing, we enjoyed a day sightseeing on the local buses and trains. We were attending a event in Kawasaki so that is why we stayed there. We didn't really do much sight-seeing in Kawasaki. We liked that the city was only a short train ride to many other cities like downtown Toyko and Yokohama.
