We spent 5 days in Albergo Posta Marcucci. It was fantastic time especially because of very kind and helpful staff. Starting from check-in until check-out we fill like in between good friends. The rooms are comfortable, and everything was as it should be. The pools are really very warm, and we feel relaxing in the bath and at the couches. The restaurant has excellent food as well at the breakfast and the dinner. I strongly recommend this Hotel not only to spend a time at the pool but also to make a short trips across Tuscany countryside, visiting nice towns nearby. Many thanks to the Hotel Manager for his help in time organisation.

    This is not the first time we have visited the hotel-SPA, and we can say that in this case we found ourselves quite satisfied. Being able to swim in the thermal water pool is a wonderful experience. Also pleased that the thermal baths could be taken right in the room. The most valuable thing about the hotel is its location. Whilst the service was decent, it's accessibility to the main wine regions, and views in all directions was still the most important thing. Stepping out on the patio or climbing out of the pool we were directly frozen by the incredible beauty of Val d'Orcia. The staff were very attentive and tried their best to help. For example, the nearest bridge over the Orcia River was closed for repairs and we would have had to take a circuitous route to the restaurant. However, the member of staff at reception found out that the bridge was accessible at the weekend, even though all the navigators showed otherwise, and we saved a lot of travelling time. One of the most powerful experiences was a wine tasting in the Castle, conducted by the hotel sommelier. He told us about local wine in a wonderful, clear and interesting way, showed us vineyards, shared the secrets of their care and explained the peculiarities of each variety tasted. We were very impressed and grateful for this unique experience!

    Beautiful and well maintained, kidfriendly agriturismo. Marina and staff were always welcoming, friendly and helpful. We and our children (1 and 3 years old) had the best time. We especially enjoyed the beautiful pool, loved to see all the animals at the farm and staff were always sweet to our kids (our eldest was particularly fond of Giuseppe). Breakfast and Tuscan dinner were exceptional. Would love to come back here!

    Vintage but well-maintained and very clean. The double bed was big enough and comfortably firm with fresh feeling on linen. There's a tub in bathroom!     Just my wife and I, trying to get some feel for Tuscany. We were on a ridge, overlooking a valley of wine fields and olive tree orchards, and looking up at Montepulciano. View couldn't have been more perfect. Ate dinner in town 2 nights at restaurant recommended by host - really practical and delicious.

    Pienza is a fantastic hilltop town with wonderful views over the Val D'Orcia valley. It has wonderful streets, restaurants, and historical sites to explore. My morning coffee and croissant in Piazza Magiore will stay in my memory for a long time. You have to go back there and basta :)

    Beautiful Tuscan town.

    Beautiful Tuscan town. But the two main churches are closed on Saturdays and Sundays, if you can believe it... Better stay in Peinza or Montepulciano. But Sant'Antimo Abbey, 10 kms away, is a world wonder.

    Good town close to many attractions we never got to. Wineries and scenery exceptional. Pleasant and friendly people who help non Italian speaking tourists. So many places within a short distance access for walkers cyclists or car drivers. It's isolation makes it more special.

    Bagno Vignoni is a small, beautiful town. The first time we experience the thermal pool instead the Market Square. Around there are small restaurants with typica Tuscany dishes and typical Italian service kindness. Nearby there are thermal lakes and a lot of wineries with a good San Giovese vine.

    Monticchiello is a great hill top village to stay overnight when travelling through Tuscany. Beautifully quiet in the evening but with a number of restaurants to choose from to suit all tastes. We ate at Osteria Fra Paolino which was exceptional and proved to be the best meal of the 2 weeks we spent travelling from Rome through Tuscany to Florence.

    Absolutely LOVE Montepulciano; I have spent extended time...

    Absolutely LOVE Montepulciano; I have spent extended time here and brought a friend for 2 nights which she thought was perfect. Allowed enough time to see the town, enjoy long meals and leisurely walks to see everything and do some shopping while not having to rush - views are spectacular and people are all so nice and most have enough English to adequately communicate if you don't know any Italian. Wine is fantastic everywhere and it's not priced like a tourist town - prefer it to San Gimignano, Cortona, Orvieto, Todi and Assisi if you only have time to do one (they are all worth visiting though!). Train to Chiusi then bus straight into town if you don't want to rent a car - super simple & reliable schedule but there is free parking and plenty of paid lots if you do rent a car.
