The staff are really helpful and were able to recommend kid-friendly beaches across the islands. If you want, zodiac/gommone rental is available just opposite the hotel. There are fun dining options a short drive away (car recommended, although the local bus stops outside) and the incredible Punta Tegge beach with its Zi Antò bar is a short walk away. Breakfast was plentiful and varied and could be had indoors or outdoors. The room was split-level with a double bed downstairs and stairs up to a single bedroom. Everything was comfortable and clean. The best place in Sardinia.
The best place in Sardinia. Cute Italian town with picturesque houses, great restaurants and the best gelato. We loved going from beach to beach, they all possess different qualities, but they are all lovely with the bluest water I’ve seen. You definitely need a car or a Vespa to get the best experience. It is a great apartment with good space for 5 persons and a fabulous view of the sea and Porto Massimo. The apartment complex was very quiet with just a few people when we were there from September 22-27. The apartment had everything we needed although the oven did not work. The windows have mosquito net frames which must be removed to close them. The apartment is at the top of the hill with 100+ stairs from the main parking area. Fewer stairs when parking at the back but then it takes another 5 min. through a small dust road. You need a car to go shopping and to restaurants or the town 8 minutes away. The waters surrounding La Maddalena are stunning, the closest to the Caribbean I have experienced in the Mediterranean. La Maddalena is relatively small and easy to get around with a car. Depending on where you are staying, beaches may be within walking distance. La Maddalena is such a beautiful island, loved the geology of the island and felt very comfortable in the town.
