Historical restored castle were Giacomo Casanova stayed for awhile. Fascinating interior and beautiful garden where I could take a nice stroll. Breakfast was generous and had quite a lot of choices. Being far from everything and on Christmas night, with only another family staying, it was very quiet, total bliss. Also I appreciated the cuisine of the Hosteria del Castello, which is few meters away, recommended.

Everything. Brilliant breakfast. The staff are the same as they have been for the past 8 years since the first time we stayed here. Free coffee in reception is a definite winner. As I have lots of family who live in and around Gorizia, we were able to invite them back for a coffee(s) and extra long chats. One of them is in a wheelchair and parking was provided for them even they weren’t guests, so as to make it easier to access the hotels for a coffee. The rooms are a little outdated, but they are fully equipped with everything you could want. And breakfast - everything was super tasty and lots of of choices.

    Gorizia is an undiscovered gem in Italy, main boulevard has wide, tree-lined sidewalks, many cafes and plazas, a fascinating castle and so many churches to check out. Food has been fantastic, people are helpful and friendly. The town is just the right size, not too big/not too small.

    The position of Monfalcone is just perfect - beaches, Miramare castle and Trieste and Udine are just a stone’s throw away. The city is nice, with a beautiful historical buildings and monuments, but the atmosphere there is just not so friendly.

    i liked the friendly helpful atmosphere. It was a little difficult to know where to arrive- into a busy cafe. Room and service was excellent. Unfortunately i was too late to enjoy the food but the morning coffee and croissant was great. . location close to airport was perfect.

    There is no basic store nearby to even buy a bottle of water, there is a lot of garbage, the seaweed is not removed after the tide, there is a stench, the municipality does not monitor this, the green area around the beach is covered in shit, although there is a toilet on the beach

    An isle, very quiet, not much crowded, there is a possibility to find a free beach easily. Dining and coffee area in the midst of the city is perfect. Old town we loved a lot. It was a perfect location for a trip with small kids (3 and 5 years old)

    Gorizia ia a wonderful city to wander through on foot. The older part of downtown is well kept. The downtown area offers plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy. I think it is good for about two or three leisurely days. There are a few sites to visit and Slovenia is close by. We ate at Peperino(excellent food and an attentive staff) and La Chincaglieria(sp?)(food and wine were really good, the atmosphere was lively, the staff was friendly). Overall, I would visit again.

    Monfalcone is not the most touristic place to be. we were there for a regatta so we visited, the sailclub/marina! we visited Slovenia (the caves) visited Trieste, Udine, Grado,... Monfalcone was fine, and a good place to start these visits. I like the authenticity and it not being touristic,

    Gorizia is an undiscovered gem. It has history, shopping, restaurants and a great location adjacent to the Collio Goriziano wine region, with numerous producers of excellent wines. Mountains, forests, beach resorts and the Adriatic Sea are all within a short drive. Slovenia is right next door.
