FAQs about hotels in Campania
Stunning Scenery and Remarkable Ruins
Wonderful beach resorts, a wealth of history and winding, cliff-hugging roads – these are just a few reasons why Campania is so admired.
Spreading around a bay, the capital Naples is a mix of monumental architecture and narrow streets. Known for pizza and pulsating life night and day, it extends along the coast towards Pozzuoli, site of a Roman amphitheatre and the Phlegrean Fields volcanic area.
The most notorious volcano is of course Vesuvius, whose eruption in 79AD destroyed Pompei and Herculaneum. The ruins of both are an amazing insight into the sophistication of the Romans. Even older are the well-preserved Greek temples at Paestum.
Agropoli sits on a rocky promontory overlooking a beach and harbour, and beautiful Palinuro is at the tip of the Cilento National Park. Other fantastic Campania resorts are on the amazing Amalfi Coast. Ravello, high on a hill, offers stunning coastal views, while Amalfi and Positano cascade down to the sea. Around the peninsula is Sorrento, home to several 5-star Campania hotels, while offshore are the fabulous islands of Capri and Ischia.
Inland Caserta has an impressive Royal Palace with huge gardens, and Avellino nestles in a valley between the port of Salerno and Benevento, site of yet more Roman remains. See Booking.com for an excellent range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Campania.

A very interesting and vibrant city with a great buzz.
A very interesting and vibrant city with a great buzz. Lots of great restaurants and a great metro system. We always felt very safe and welcome, despite the fact that it was very busy. The locals we met were all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend Taverna dell Arte near Universita metro station for a great meal.Guest review byRobbieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Ischia is a great island for vacation - there are many sandy beaches, spectacular views, a lot of greenery and of course delicious food. It is not difficult to go around the island by car. The roads are narrow and with many turns, and many people are driving motorbikes which makes driving difficult but you can survive:) People are very friendly and calm. The food is amazing, especially pasta in any form! The island is easy to reach - the are ferries from Naples, about an hour from there. Highly recommend Ischia to visit!Guest review byIvankaBulgaria - 10.0

Great city to enjoy southern Italy and the coast line of Amalfi. A nice main headquarters for day trips to Amalfi ( town ); Positano, Capri; Pompeii and the British Commonwealth Cemetary there. Take the ferry(ies) a few times to enjoy the Sea, the views and some fresh air. Take the Coastal Muni Bus ( slightly higher fare than a city bus ) to get the snot scared out of you by the curves, narrow roads and Great Italian Drivers! The views of the coast line and mountains are wonderful! PS: don't buy too many lemon centric items/ souvenirs!Guest review byChristopherUnited States - 10.0

Capri is great to explore via taxi, get up early and head up to Ana Capri, less traffic more intimate area. The chair lift is a must to the top of the mountain, and lunch up top of the mountain is amazing. Capri is nice in the evenings to walk around and shop with plenty of places to get cocktails, and explore.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
The accommodation and ability to access great day trips (...
The accommodation and ability to access great day trips (Pompeii, walking the path of the Gods, visit other towns along the coast, cookery course etc) was brilliant and made for a great holiday. We did find that the whole coast was packed with tourists and when the cruise ships came in, this was much worse. The local buses were very good, and cheap, and enabled us to achieve everything we wanted to.Guest review bySallyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Positano was fantastic.
Positano was fantastic. We enjoyed great restaurants and shopping. The incredible views will stay in my mind for the rest of my life. We had easy access to boats heading to Capri, which is a “must add” trip you should fit in to your plans. The beach’s are loaded with stone and you must have water shoes to get into the water. We were always at ease with the relaxing vibe that surrounded us. My wife and I will strongly recommend Positano to anyone thinking of heading that way. It is truly magical. Our 2 best meals were at “The Mediterrano” and “ La Taglia, we enjoyed them both equally.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
the Pompeii ruins and its history was amazing added...
the Pompeii ruins and its history was amazing added knowledge that i was not aware of. The displays were awesome and able to visualize how not see how civilization perished but also how it survived from its destruction. recommend taking a tour guide vs self walk ,unless ONE is an Historian and knowledgeable of its history in the period of civilization. The nearby eating area a little pricy...but if you have car ,try to go Centro and prices are more moderate. very busy spot ....and don't know when it is best to visit.Guest review bycarloCanada - 8.0
Caserta is a pleasant ordinary town.
Caserta is a pleasant ordinary town. The Royal Palce is jaw dropping and it is a 8E return train ride from Naples. With a car, there are many fantastic Roman sites and a spectacular coastline within 30k. The town has quite a number of excellent Pizza restaurants, all competitively priced.Guest review bypaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Anacapri is way quieter than Capri.
Anacapri is way quieter than Capri. I see that as a good thing. Anacapri gets busy during the day with all the day trippers... Thanks to the gondola, Blue grotto etc. But once they leave... that's when Anacapri shines. We loved the quiet evenings, the amazing sunsets, the now empty swimming holes... Loved it!Guest review byAndreUnited States
