It has been converted in to a fortress for the fourtune found there which belongs to the nation. LANGUAGE BARRIERS is another impediment. Very nice coast, it’s possible to walk for kilometres along the coast. It’s quite turistic but mainly locals so it doesn’t bother too much. It’s possible to get into the sea only in very few places but I wouldn’t recommend it. The town has lots of markets, bakeries and restaurants. Nettor back water safari for 1hr is high 3400/- for 4. Need to negotiate further. Mattancherry palace is better with a guide. Katthakali show 600 pp is worth watching with their makeup n dressing. Any side you turn, the views are stunning. You should visit during a perfect weather with some rain and fog. It doesn't cool very much during sunny days. Roads are very nice to drive a car.
