Their "Ubud escape" motto could not be more accurate, as it is a beautiful gem in the middle of the jungle, far from the busy town. I booked a Premier Pool Villa, but got upgraded to the Royal Villa. It was an absolute surprise! It's an extra spacious property with every facility you could wish for (they even have a mini kitchen in the pool area with a beverage stocked fridge) and if we hadn't booked any activities in advance, I think I would have spent 3 whole days by it's pool, just enjoying the greenery, the sound of the river nearby, the privacy & comfort that it offers. I loved the entrance to the rooms, the wooden door with offerings is a nice touch as it really transmits that Balinese feeling. Also, in short: - food is really good, many options, large portions. We also joined their BBQ dinner one night, which was very nice. - they offer shuttle services to and from Ubud town - they provide a whatsapp number for communication & infos, which is very helpful - SPA service is amazing, worth booking a massage - staff is friendly and happy to help anytime. We arrived very late for our check-in and they were so considerate and prepared some sandwiches for us to enjoy. It meant the world! You feel truly pampered at this resort. The staff are warm, attentive, and always eager to assist with any questions or requests. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, which is especially important to me due to a back injury. The resort is kept clean, and the thoughtful turndown service each evening is such a lovely touch — returning to a softly lit room with drawn curtains and a lovely fragrance after a long day is pure bliss. I definitely recommend using the resort’s private driver service. We booked a full-day tour, plus transfers to the ferry terminal and airport, and it was seamless especially after the flooding. Our driver, Karta, was not only professional and friendly but also shared fascinating insights into Balinese culture throughout our trip. The van was spacious and comfortable, and we were always greeted with cold towels and bottled water after each outing — a small but much-appreciated luxury. The tours are fairly priced and can be completely customized to your interests and pace, which made the experience more enjoyable. Breakfast and dinner and Cascades was wonderful. We also had the pleasure of having cocktails in Pinstripe bar and dinner at Apertif restaurant, which was simply the most amazing fine dining experience we have ever had. Above all though, what makes this place truly special are the incredible staff. So friendly, always happy to have a chat and show you around, and to go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need for an unforgettable stay. Ubud has serious traffic congestion and crossing the road becomes a practiced art. Pavements are a real problem as they are narrow and badly broken up, tripping hazards are commonplace. The roadside kerbing is much higher than normal so for anyone struggling with any type of walking disability, beware. Basically there are just too many tourists and day trippers which makes for even more traffic and crowding. Feels like I should have come here 25 years ago and would have found a completely different vibe. The beautiful areas of Sukawati require a car/driver. We went to the art market which was nice, but you could get this art anywhere in Bali for the same price. I hadn't been before and wouldn't stay here again, it's a bit 'commercial' and not tailored to tourists. From the moment I arrived l felt very welcomed by the owners & staff who made me feel like part of the family knowing l was travelling alone. My villa had a private garden & verandah with my own pond with fish & a waterfall. Such a peaceful & beautifully spacious room serviced daily. The organic food & drinks were delicious & the house frozen margarita became a daily treat for me. Prices were so inexpensive so l could indulge. The staff are always smiling & laughing as this boutique resort is a place they love to be also . The views are breathtaking & the peace it brought me filled my heart with such joy. The area was too busy for us, maybe because we stayed right in the centre of ubud although it’s very convenient to reach places we want to visit. But people are lovely. A lots of unforgettable cultures performances and events and we felt safe.
