Absolutely loved our stay! The hotel is run by a truly wonderful and attentive family who made us feel very welcome from the first moment. The room was spotless and well-maintained, and the breakfast each morning was delicious and made with care. Great location, just a short walk to the beach and close to a charming open-air cinema. Peaceful, clean, and full of heart — we’d happily come back

We booked a twin bed room with ensuite bathroom and a balcony overlooking the inner garden. On arrival, Costas was already waiting for his arriving guests outside, offering a warm welcome and a big hug. We were offered some cold water, he even took our heavy bags up and lead us to our room. Throughout our stay Costas was very welcoming, very warm. He will always give you a hug, ask about your day and recommend places to see, best roads to take. The room and bathroom was very clean. In the room there is an air conditioner, TV, mirror, dressing table, 2 chairs, hairdryer, set of hangers, wardrobe and a fridge. In the bathroom you will have a travel size shampoo/shower gel & soap available. There is hot and cold water, strong stream shower. Please bear in mind that there is no car parking available, but you can park your motorbike. Also, i do not recommend getting into the town with the car as google maps and gps is showing you roads to get through that are not allowed to be driven on by a car. You can get through by motorbike though. The location is very good, almost in the heart of the town, the port is 8 min walk, plenty of restaurants around, small boutiques and there is a small grocery shop to stock up with snacks, water and drinks. All in all, i highly recommend staying here if you are open to warm welcome and affordable, clean accommodation in the centre of the town.

Despite the hotel rates as a 2 star, it was immaculately clean and tidy. The location was very good being just a short walk to the lovely beach approx 3 minute walk, on the beach there was nice restaurants where they did amazing seafood, this was recommended by the hotel. The hotel is a family run hotel who literally would do anything to make your stay enjoyable. They cared so much and wanted to give as much information as possible. The breakfast was simple but very nice, they had homemade cakes which were very tasty. I would happily recommend this hotel. If I were to return to the island I would definitely book with them again.

FAQs about hotels on Aegina

Mingle with the Locals

Situated under 30 km from Athens in the centre of the Argosaronic Gulf, the beautiful island of Aegina remains unspoiled by mass tourism. Covered by pine trees, this charming island is a precious weekend destination for the Athenians.

Aegina Town is the main town of the island and has a unique selection of monuments and buildings, including the Archaeological Museum and imposing neoclassical buildings. Booking.com offers a selection of hotels, guest houses and apartments in the area.

The Temple of Aphaea, the Monastery of Agios Nectarios and the Cathedral of Aegina are some of the island’s main attractions. The medieval town of Paleohora is located near the Temple of Aphaea and Agia Marina. The archaeological site of Kolona is a prehistoric settlement that is the site of Apollo’s Temple.

The long sandy beach of Agia Marina is ideal for families with young kids, thanks to the shallow waters, sunbeds and restaurants. The picturesque beach of Souvala is popular for its therapeutic springs, while the beach of Marathonas is perfect for relaxation.

Cultivated since 1860, the pistachios of Aegina are well-known for their quality and flavour. Visit the colourful village of Mesargos and you will find a variety of traditional ceramics and potteries.

Very convenient location, though tucked away and quiet. The noise of scooters on Aegina can be tormenting but you never hear them in this place. The whole has been tastefully designed round the swimming pool and feels like an oasis of trees, flowers and nature generally. Each building is slightly different which adds to the sense of attention to detail. I think all rooms have spacious balconies with varying aspects. Our studio was simple but somehow stylish - pleasant art on the walls, interesting table lamps. Everything worked, not always the case in Greek hotels! Easily the best place I've stayed on Aegina.

This place has an unbeatable location, just a 5-minute walk from the ferry and super easy to find. Being right across from Avra Beach makes it so convenient—you can literally just walk out and pop over to the sand. The room was spotless, the bed was really comfortable, and the AC worked perfectly. Staff were awesome! Aegina is a beautiful island, and I'm definitely coming back. When I do, I'll absolutely be staying here again!

The beach is the longest sandy beach on Aegina which is predominately lovely sand there are some mixed stones and sand at the far but nothing to bad. The water is shallow and mainly calm wit a big sand bar a few meters out I would say very safe for children The sunbed range in quality and price ranging from 20 euros a set with parasol to 12 euros which obviously also is based on location and convenience to the beach bars and taverna's. Some beds are free if you spend money in the taverna's We loved the beach and clear warm warms that September brings

Souvala is quieter than Aegina Town but that is not a bad thing. It is more laid back. It has some good tavernas, bars and restaurants. The souvlaki at Theophilos is to die for. With a Greek salad and a small Carafe of wine , two Souvlakis 17 Euros. That's great. There us a,small beach near the small harbour. There is also a another beach slightly out of the town which in high season has sunbeds and a bar. Just a short walk.. Souvala has a good Supermarket Bakery and some other little shops too. Lovely little place. And 15 mins by taxi to.Aegina,Town .

The location is quiet and relatively far away from the town, I mentioned relatively as the island is small so it doesn't take long to travel. So it's a good opportunity to stay in a quiet place with not much distance from the town. Still there are a few places to eat. The taxi will cost more to come there to take you to town, so instead of 18 euros you will pay 25.

Public transport on the island is not great so personal transport is required. You can see all you need to in 24-48 hours. I’m glad I visited but I didn’t find anything to make me want to return. My travel companion is vegan and it was very difficult to find vegan options on menus, and none that contained vegan protein in the many restaurants in Aegina or Perdika which we also visited.

    Agia Marina is great.

Agia Marina is great. I have been there many times and will go back next year. Nikos beach bar is the best place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. There are many places to eat and drink. We weren't looking for nightlife so I have no idea about what is available but the bars were very nice. The sandy beach is lovely and the water is shallow for a long way out so great for children. There are well stocked supermarkets, a great pharmacy and a lovely bakery. Basically everything you need for a simple beach holiday. People are very friendly. A trip to the Temple of Aphaia is highly recommended. You CAN walk (we did) but I wouldn't recommend it if you are not used to really steep hill walking. Taxis and buses will take you there. We always enjoy our stay in Agia Marina and will keep going back.

A colorful and vibrant island, with beautiful shops and excellent restaurants. Like everywhere in Greece, the locals are friendly, and the atmosphere is wonderful. When booking the ferry, pay attention—there are two ports on the island: one is the main port, and the other is secondary. The main port brings you closer to the livelier, more touristy area. In any case, even if you arrive at the other port by mistake, you can easily take a taxi or a bus to the other side of the island.

In general south part of Aegina is much better than the northern part. Perdika is a really nice place to stay, close to Marathonas, Sarpa and Klima beach (by far go to Klima beach). Marathonas is good for families with young children as the sea is not deep. Probably some more dinning options (other than Perdika fishing port) would be good, but Aegina city center is really close, not more than 15 mins drive.
