- From US$112.57 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 963 reviewsFirst of all: The most friendliest, fun and caring staff works in this lovely hotel! James greeted us at arrival, and he made sure that I got a better chair in our oom! Breakfast and dinner is just delicious, and the overall service is excellent. We stayed in room 11. It was a lovely, clean and spacious room for the 2 uf us. It is not a room with a wiev, but we didn't mind at all. We enjoyed the coffee, tea and bisquits provided to us every day in our room. The room had housekeeping every day which was very nice. So fun to have followed The Townhouse Hotel on Facebook for so long, and finally see and meet these lovely people who makes this place dynamic and fun. Will definately stay here again!Guest review byKari-Ann Regina EngeNorway
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 603 reviewsWhat can I say about the Grey Harlings, it was a delight to stay here. The hotel is comfortable, lots of character and very relaxing. We found out that the hotel is run by a family. Linda and rest of the staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the garden. The room was cozy, we had restful sleep. The area is very quiet. We went into town for a bite to eat and we had fish and chips. The breakfast the next day was brilliant (compliments to the chef). Hotel suitable for all, especially ideal for golfers being right at the golf course. Would recommend this place!!!Guest review byCatheCanada

We normally stay in St Andrews when on a short break in the area. Carnoustie golf Hotel is more than a match for most St Andrews hotels. The town on the other hand is a long way short when it comes to restaurants and shops compared with St Andrews. If you are staying 1 or 2 nights then I would definitely recommend Carnoustie golf Hotel.Guest review byGerrUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lots of things for kids to do.
Lots of things for kids to do. Travelled with my 4 year old and he had a great time. Good choice of supermarkets for self catering. Decent options for eating out also. Lots of nice places to walk and the town centre has a few good shops (especially Charity shops which I love a rummage in)Guest review bytracyUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Room was perfect size for family, bathroom has leak beside shower causing mold /rotten wood. Room does get a lot of noise from business above. I was unaware I hadn't preordered breakfast as I received an email day before asking me what time slot i wished but when check in was told no breakfast available as more rooms than tables for breakfast available. Was offered 9.30am breakfast downstairs on first day but second day we were refused far from ideal for a family with children to be told to wait til 10am when public breakfast area opens! We actually had 3 rooms booked for 2 nights but only one room got breakfast stress free . Please consider making breakfast in your larger area rather than refusing families breakfast.Guest review byOmoniyi - 10.0

We lunched at The Drovers Inn which was fantastic. Forfar has a lot of nice places to eat and is not far from Glamis Castle which is a lovely day out. The only downside about Forfar is that it doesn't have a rail service but it does have a regular bus service.Guest review bycampbell - 10.0

Edzell is a beautiful place to stay, most people were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was adequate and although quite small was nice and comfortable.the shower was not great and very poor and the toilet would not flush properly without having to refill the cistern. The auto lights in the very dark hall did not come on unless we walked way past our room so kind of pointless for us. The breakfast room is in need of soft music or something as all we could hear was other people eating with their mouths open, this was not enjoyable. The bar also is in need of some music in the evening anything really to give it some life.Guest review byHeatherUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Arbroath is a nice coastal town, good size for walking around all the main areas. Main shopping street a bit tired with lots of closed shops, but enough coffee, bars and restaurants. We used the Wetherspoons a few times which is always good value for money, and The Old Brewhouse at the harbour was a good sized hearty meal in small but nice restaurant/bar. The Signal Tower Museum is worth a visit for history on the Bell Rock Lighthouse. We walked the coastal path north, my husband walked about 11 miles to Lunan Bay, signposts were ok, but skirting around farms and small villages was long, but interesting. Montrose is also good for a visit, especially for bird watchers around the tidal basin and coastal rivers. All around is excellent area to explore and walk, we had good dry weather which is always a bonus.Guest review byHilaryUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If you plan to walk the hills of Glen Clova, this is the obvious alternative to camping rough! Fortunately, it is a good alternative and the bar and terrace attracts both hotel guests and the wider hill walking community.Guest review byWalterUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The local people were very friendly and very helpful when we asking for directions. The coffee house was very nice, we went a couple of times, the food was great and home baking and atmosphere, A long time time ago the premises were once Stables. Theres also plenty of buses if you dont have a car.Guest review byAnonymous
