Every thing in the hotel is marvellous and luxurious! The room is well and conveniently equipped with all necessary items like usb plugs. The bathroom has fantastic shower, bath robes. The garden is beautiful and full of herbs. Both Restaurants are great. The best part is staff who goes extra miles to help you. Morgan at reception is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Zagnar in breakfast is so lovely who’s proud of her work and make the breakfast time enjoyable

Lovely hotel in the centre of Cognac. Free parking accessible close by. Very comfortable bed and great shower. Very clean, quiet and has a lift which is always a bonus! Reception staff were very welcoming and the bar area downstairs was lovely.

Lovely welcome. Interesting and different hotel. Lovely room, very quiet even though it was in a central location. Easy walk to the River Charente. Easy parking. We had an enjoyable meal in the hotel's restaurant nearby. Breakfast very good. Overall a lovely and pleasant experience.

Staff are helpful and friendly, giving us the advice for dinner. They are very hardworking, and can see them picking litter outside the building and helping each other at the catering side. It must be a very good working place to have the happy workers provide amazing service. The price is good for the money special for those traveling between Calais to the south of France. We shall go back again.

    This is a charming property. The main house is a wonderfully well restored domaine / manor house. An excellent example of what is possible for all those who dream of restoring a period property in France. The gite / cottage we rented was delightful, full of charming period details yet well-appointed with all modern conveniences. We particularly liked the fireplace and the supply of dry wood. We lit the fire for atmosphere only – the central heating in all rooms was more than adequate. The staff are very friendly and went above and beyond the call of duty to be helpful and make our stay enjoyable. Parking is large, convenient and secure. It is very accessible if you are towing something such as a boat. In the main house do not miss the painting of Asterix the Gaul meeting Delacroix's Marianne at the barricades.

    The location was amazing, right at the edge of the old town but with the birds and trees it felt like the middle of the countryside. It was a five minute walk to restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is beautiful inside and out. A real find for us. We will definitely be back. The staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful!

    Because of a big traffic jam in Bordeaux it was impossible for us to arrived before the closing time, but the lady at the reception was very pleased to arrange other solution and help us, we managed to stay close, thank you very much for your help and I will see you next year, all the best for the time at Bon Repos

    Angoulême is a beautiful city with the cartoon murals all around. But I didn't know that some places were on top of the hill, like the cathedral, some museums were all down by the mountain. I kind of struggled walking all around because of the heat stroke ( it was 40 degrees). But city buses can save you and take you anywhere you want. The city is good to hang out at night, I tried local beers at a bar and chat with the other tables as a solo traveler.

    LOVELY TOWN WITH BEAUTIFUL ARCHITECTURE AND WELL WORTH DOING A COGNAC TOUR OF ONE OR TWO OF THE COGNAC HOUSES. A LOT OF RENNOVATION GOING ON IN THE TOWN AND THE RIVERSIDE. PLENTY OF PLACES TO CHOOSE FOR EATING OUT AND LOTS OF NICE LITTLE SHOPS TO EXPLORE. LE GARAGE IS A FUN BAR TO STOP OFF AT. WE HAD A LOVELY LUNCH AT CHEZ BIANCA AND PHILIPPE AND DELICIOUS DINNER AT THE CHAIS MONNET HOTEL.

    This is a lovely part of the world.

    This is a lovely part of the world. Very peaceful with stunning countryside. A short drive away is Cognac with its magnificent selection of restaurants, The temperature is great and well the wine and cognac exceptional, as you would expect.

    If you refer to the place itself, I don`t know. I had no time to visit. If you refer to the hotel, it was good but something of a nightmare to check in on arrival. However, I would blame Booking.Com for this. I should have been informed of and been able to pay at time of booking, a surcharge of some 88 centimes. I`m not sure whether I would ever use Booking.Com again. But why should they worry about that? I am just one among millions of customers.

    Lovely little town we arrived just before the annual music festival to view a property for sale. Based on what we experienced including Confolens, it’s indoor market building, the outdoor amphitheater, the riverside bars and eateries, the well kept commune areas and helpful welcoming French and English people we are buying.

    Cannot recommend, was so disappointed with the accommodation beyond the reception (located in the restaurant bar) despite having paid we returned our keys and checked again within about 30mins. Its perfect for lonely lorry drivers I guess.

    On the whole people were friendly.

    On the whole people were friendly. It is a pretty town I found a nice shop to buy pre-prepared meals but did not want to eat out as I was alone. The architecture was interesting and walking around quite pleasant. I'm sure it is much livelier in the Summer months.

    Angouleme has a lot of charm.

    Angouleme has a lot of charm. Plenty of interesting high end restaurants, bars, shops and beautiful period architecture. There is a very good Curry Restaurant there which, although not up to my English expectations, is the best I have been to in France. There was also a very caracterful and cozy bohemian bar which was frequented by the locals ('Le Giraffe') serving good beer (Kwak on draught!) Parking in the town wasn't too difficult but it was January! Lots of one way streets and restrictions so prepare for frustration. Definitely a good place for couples and romantic evenings. There is lots of wall art on the sides of buildings as this town is known for its artists who create much of the 'Bande Dessinees' produced in France. However... This area of France has definitely seen better days and that is quite in evidence outside the town where it is hard to ignore the many boarded -up shops and derelict buildings. A real shame for such a beautiful and historic area.

    A beautiful charming town, all centres around cognac making, we arrived on a Friday and found the whole town very quiet, we were later informed that the majority of inhabitants working in Cognac would be in summer holidays and only tourists remain, so if in peak season looking for a little peace and quiet, this is the place to go. Lovely promenade on the river, charming brasseries and bars in the old town and on the Quai. We really liked it.
