FijiMy kids and I were after a peaceful and quiet Christmas and got exactly this and more at Tobu House. The house is simple yet elegant, warm and homely. We had access to the sea and took out kayaks to look at corals, had a lovely swim at the salt water Tobu, did a quick trip to the waterfalls and thoroughly enjoyed the greenery, farm animals and the peace and quiet.
Kirsty and her lovely Dad were amazing hosts, they made sure we had all that we needed during our stay.

FijiThe service and actual genuine bula we received was extremely beautiful. We had a wonderful greeting on arrival by solo and team. Our dinner was well prepared by Chef Osea and shared with the caretakers Lilly and Levaci. It was a home away from home for us, the beautiful room with the scenic view of the garden and river. Breakfast of home made Banana Muffins and the scrumptious pancakes. River tubing and boat ride by Osea 1 and Chef Osea on sunday was the best way to end our trip. If you're looking for something genuine, quiet and fijian. This is the place for you. We will be back.

AustraliaUnplanned stopped into Savusavu and was luckily enough to find this. Situated on a hill (400m), where a 4WD is required this place is breathtaking. If you need a place to stay, unwind and just want to recharge your batteries where no one can disturb you, I would highly recommend this. Just bring your food/wine and enjoy the peace and serenity of Korovesi Sunshine Villas.

It was the very best experience during our three-week Fiji holiday. The lodge we stayed in (a house with three bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, a separate toilet, a very big dining room, and a large veranda) has a stunning view, is well equipped, and has a nice garden where we could sunbathe. Clark, the owner, welcomed us like his own family. He showed us the best places to snorkel. There are great corals right at the beach next to the house. Also, he went out of his way, offering us several additional activities like stand-up paddleboarding, SUP kiteboarding, and ukulele lessons. The caretaker, a very friendly Fijian lady, cleaned the house regularly, made breakfast for a small additional fee, and took care of our laundry. One evening her family even prepared a traditional "Lovo" meal for us. It was absolutely delicious! There are many things to do in the area. One day we went canoeing in a saltwater river and lake. Restaurants are found in Savusavu. There you can also get all the supplies needed to cook for yourself. There is a public bus stop right next to the house, and you can use taxis. Savusavu is a great location for a peaceful holiday, giving to a more traditional Fijian experience with less resorts on the island. The market is a great for self catering or just absorbing the atmosphere, especially early on Sat when the fish market is there too. The people are very friendly and fun to be around, as you walk down the street you are constantly greeted warmly with Bula! Definitely make the effort to venture across to Savusavu—it’s far more picturesque than Fiji’s main island. Getting around is a breeze: you can hop on local buses, grab a taxi, or simply wave down a friendly local for a ride (just agree on the fare beforehand). The people are incredibly welcoming and helpful—they’ll happily arrange any activity you fancy, and you’ll feel the rich Fijian culture everywhere. We even attended a Sunday singing service in the local church—it was breathtaking to hear the harmonies and feel the community spirit firsthand. I have much preferred staying in the Mamanuca Island chain - cuter islands, more of a holiday feel and better snorkelling than what we experienced here.
