Really nice building and decorations. The hostel also has bar, and it's lovely. I stayed in the room that is not directly on the beach. I haven't used the kitchen much but it seemed ok. I recommend!

The breakfast was great...I enjoyed the eggs made to order. Melina and Tatiana did a wonderful job of making sure everything was great and all our needs were taken care of. I highly recommend Casita de la Playa if you plan on staying on Isabella. The island had marine iguanas and blue footed booby's just a short walk on the beach from the front of the hotel without having to get a tour to see them. There was also a place next to the dock where you can go snorkeling with sea lions! A truly unforgettable experience...just have to rent a snorkel from

    Jackson and Amelia are excellent hosts. They guide you with everything during all your stay. Jackson has special prices of excursions on Isabela. First of all, he awaits you at the pier with a sign with your name on it, something I was not expecting at all. They receive your with a coffee or tea and after leaving your stuff in the room, Jackson shows you around the Puerto Villamil. The room had all the commodities : shower with hot water, air conditioning, tv and a lot of space in the room. The WiFi worked doing its best, although on the whole island the signal is weak. Enough to check the mails and social media as well as making some phone calls (I even had a 2-hours video call).

    We had a wonderful stay in one of the groundfloor rooms; at high tide the sea almost touched our balcony - great sound to fall asleep and awesome beach; the breakfast at the rooftop was very rich and diverse (every day another special) with a great view; the staff was very friendly - be it in booking our day trips for us or organizing a surprise birthday cake for my husband ;) Thank you very much!

    Went in October 2024. Could pay for both the hotel stay and tours with credit card, without any additional fee. Lovely place with very friendly staff who helped me upon arrival and recommended me tours to go on. Although it was one of the furthest hotels from the port, a short 5 minute taxi ride that costs $1 gets you there.

    Puerto Villamil is a beautiful friendly port!

    Puerto Villamil is a beautiful friendly port! Easy to get around. At all times the surroundings felt safe & clean. Food was very good, lots of variety. Quiet relaxed stay. Best of all the freedom of the animals all around. Highly suggest you travel light and have your sunscreen ready.

    Loved how relaxed the pace of life was.

    Loved how relaxed the pace of life was. A highpoint was the availability of good inexpensive food. For an excellent quality restaurant, el cafetal was great! The beach and ocean views from our hotel were the best. We loved snorkeling at Concha Perla. We enjoyed a couple of tours and were able to see so many beautiful sea animals.

    We enjoyed the different activities and places to visit in Isabela, I think the Sierra Negra Volcano, and the tintoreras tour are the best. Taxis used to charge much more than in Santa Cruz since they charge by people, not by ride.
