Amazing boutique hotel in the center of Bautzen. Our room was beautiful and comfortable. We appreciated a lot the small presents from the owners (a bottle of local beer and some mustard). Fantastic location in the center of the town, right next to a delicious mustard restaurant. Very friendly and helpful lady at the reception. We loved this place and are planning to be back.

    The park is located in a beautiful area with many options for nature lovers, but also many kids friendly attractions even in winter. The house was very comfortable overall and extremely clean. We were several families with adjacent homes and it was very comfortable. The pool (included in price) is a few minutes away by foot. It is also well maintained and we loved the Solebad and the water temperature. there is a kids club, you can also take books and games. On Silvester there was a very nice program for families with a puppet show, music, camp fire and a few food stands for everyone with no additional cost. The staff was attentive, and came to fix the light in the bathroom very quickly. Overall it seems wonderful for summer with the lake and climbing forest which we were not able to use due to weather.

    My son and I were completing the Malerweg and decided to finish Day 7 at Stadt Wehlen (Completing stage 7 and part of stage 8). Kurort Rathen is a short train ride from Stadt Wehlen (Free if you have the Gastkarte), and then a ferry ride across the Rhine. We arrived late in the evening (after the restaurant had closed) and as we were booked for half-board, the staff had provided two lovely salads which were waiting for us in our room. We received a very warm welcome when we eventually arrived. The room was clean and comfortable. I really liked the swimming pool, and great breakfast. If I had known how good the hotel was I would have extended Day 1 on the outward trek and stayed here (Just a short distance off route), and then returned on Day 7. Lovely hotel, thoroughly recommended.

    Staff was very kind, even went through the hassle of printing some papers for me. The breakfast was very good, had a good variety of drinks and different options, staff at breakfast was also very kind and helpful. There are a few parking options: one in front of the hotel, which is free (safe but there is not always space there), alternatively you can park in a garage for 12 EUR a day or in the street for 6 EUR a day, Room was spacious and comfortable, bathroom also big and clean.

    Located about a 10-12 min walk from the train station. Big rooms, and great breakfast with a large variety of foods. An added bonus is a swimming pool and sauna free of charge for the guests.     The wonderfully restored buildings of the old city, museums, Schloss, churches, riverside park, Altmarkt market place are not to be missed. Dresden is very pedestrian friendly, most sites within easy walking distance also to and from the train station. People were super friendly and helpful.

    A post-industrial city with many nice spots mixed with some that are not too attractive. I would say it's the best what former DDR (East Germany) had to offer: very open, modernist city centre with a lot of green areas and good public transport with the worst: boring and ugly Plattenbau. Many refurbished XIX-century industrial buildings and interesting museums are a huge plus too (honorary first place goes to Museum Gunzenhauser). Overall I liked it and maybe will return to the area some day.

    An absolutely stunning medieval town. We were the only English-speaking tourists in the town - few people have discovered this little gem. A charming, incredibly well-preserved town. One of the very few that avoided any damage during the war. Full of cobblestone streets - it's incredible at night. The entire town is lit by traditional street lamps and is very atmospheric. We stayed for 3 nights (which was just about right). Top tip - use Chat-GPT and upload photos and ask it to describe what you see and the history of the town. Terrific source of background and history.

    The access to walks and other things to do was excellent. You can get around on foot, bike, bus, ferry or train. Maps are helpfully provided. The tourist information staff are very knowledgeable and kind. The therme is large and wasn’t too busy when we went (end September). Swimming outside in the sun and rain was a highlight, as was floating in the salty water of the music experience pool. We ate in our hotel so can’t comment on the local restaurants, but there were several to choose from. We visited the National Park Centre which was interesting, but mostly aimed at children. There wasn’t very much in English, so best if you can read German or Czech. People were really kind. It’s the first place I’ve been to where you arrive by train and immediately catch a ferry to get to town!

We only made a stop there because my wife didn't want to travel non-stop in one go from Poland to Luxembourg. One of my first impressions of Zwickau was the sight of an adult German who urinated against the beautiful 16th century dome, this on Christmas Eve.

    Book this very cosy hotel set in an idyllic hilly backdrop, polite staff, lovely breakfast. Spa area has a pool and whirlpool jacuzzi that has several jet options, there is a small playground and sauna, steambath as well. The family suite was the most spacious and comfortable one we have ever been in. The only downside is that there wasn’t a joint bed in the “parents” room but overall a pleasant stay with kids.
