Such a wonderful place. We felt very welcome the moment we walked in and were greeted with a glass of prosecco and huge smiles. Hosts were very attentive to our needs and went the extra mile in not only helping figure out a good hike, but also dropped us at the trail head after breakfast! Speaking of breakfast.... Best coffee we have had in a long time. Breakfast was lovely ..it included home made bread, croissant, a yogurt-oatmeal mix with blueberries that was delicious, and the usual cheese and sliced ham combo. All in all, very satisfying and a good start to an all day 20km up and down hike. The room was huge, and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. No TV , but who needs one ? There's a lovely family room/lounge area where you can relax and take advantage of the wine and beer on offer. It's a perfect place to relax and recharge after hiking; or just to stay and be chill. Well done.

We stayed in the Japanese room and it was absolutely perfect. Nice view, sauna on the terrace and jacuzzi in the bathroom. The service is excellent and we felt pampered for the entirety of our stay. They delivered breakfast to our room every morning, snacks and sodas/beer were always available in the room (with the possibility of refills), a bottle of white wine and red wine free of charge in the room and we were welcomed with a bottle of prosecco and a delicious cheese/meat platter. Highly recommended for couples who want to spend a relaxing and romantic weekend in the mountains.

Amazing view! Also the restaurant staff were so cordial. Since there wasn't a reception, we often had to reach out to them for info and they were more than happy to help.     The location is stunning. It’s surrounded by the mountains, hiking trails start right behind the property. It’s all very woody and spacious. The staff is outstandingly friendly and like I said in the title I have never felt my dog so welcomed. They even made a reservation for me and her at the restaurant (whereas most places don’t allow dogs in the restaurants). That‘s the main reason for the high rating. The dinner menu was exquisite. I also enjoyed their saunas.

    Giessbach is like stepping into a fantasy. The place is fabulous and the interior of the hotel is very butiful. Great nature and beautiful lake surrounding the place. The dinner was great with live, classical music accompanying great food and service.     The hotel was nice and cosy, but the most outstanding part was the view! The room was spacious, clean and with all the necessary amenities. The bed was very comfortable.     Enjoyed a fantastic meal at Loetschberg. Lively space with tables full of locals and visitors alike. The Coop is amazing! We got lunch in the "food court" and carried it upstairs to the bar area. Fantastic. The bears are a must-see, and we enjoyed a drizzly walk up to the Rose Garden. The Paul Klee museum is interesting, well done and clearly a labor of love for the city. Bern would be even more beautiful in the sun, but the people made it perfectly enjoyable.

    We stayed for 3-1/2 days mostly hiking in the area in mid-August. Many tourists but manageable. Strongly, strongly suggest buying the Jungfrau Pass so you can access any trains, buses, and cable cars in the entire area. It makes it so easy to get around Grindelwald, Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Wengen, First, and the Eiger. We should have booked a 5 day stay as there were some other hikes and attractions we wanted to take and see. Definitely go to Glacier Canyon and walk it to the end, but take warm clothes as the canyon is quite cool even in August due to the glacial runoff. And for sure visit the base of the Eiger. Suggest you also always get up early and get transport to your destination as late mornings (August) can be very busy and cause long lines.

    Beautiful village - ideal for photos. Cable cars take you to the top of the mountains where Murren and Gimmelwald can be reached. Many beautiful hikes in and around the town. Hike to the Staubbach and other falls or do base jumping from the cliffs just outside town.

    Wengen is a perfect spot to make home base while you explore the Lauterbrunnen and Jungfrau region. This car free village is easily accessible by train from Lauterbrunnen, where you find a relatively cheap car park and train access to Interlaken. Wengen felt less crowded than Mürren or Lauterbrunnen in the valley. There are numerous restaurants, stores, and two grocery stores in town to stock up on essentials. Getting around the area is easy thanks to the train and the Männlichen gondola.

The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities and the refrigerator was good sized. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room for 5 adult guests.     Brienz is easy to approach from interlaken by train or car. Brienz lake view, cruise journey from Brienz to Iseltwald, interlaken was awesome. Brienz Rothorn train ride is amazing and unforgettable and the views of Brienz lake from top of mountains were Marvellous. I would suggest everyone who wants to explore Lautterbrunnen, Grindelwald, harder Kulm please come, stay and visit Brienz.

    Wilderswil was a pleasant surprise. a quiet residential...

    Wilderswil was a pleasant surprise. a quiet residential community a few kilometers from Interlaken, the area is quiet and friendly. A short bus ride to the main train station and into the city of Interlaken provides access to the rest of the area. I look forward to returning in the winter to enjoy the surrounding snowfall (hopefully!).
