Brilliant city with lots of things to do.
Brilliant city with lots of things to do. It's a very walkable city. We used public transport and it was good as well. You can buy a day ticket for the subway and trams, which is handy. Eating out isn't that expensive but if you're coeliac you will struggle. I would recommend the Wendy's for a cheap, gluten free salad. We also ate at the CN Tower and they were able to give me a decent, gluten free meal. You will smell lots of cannabis while walking around the city as it's legal in Canada, but don't let this put you off. The city seems safe enough and the people are polite and friendly, on the whole. We will definitely be back.Guest review byKarenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Gets a bit pricey for food, but we found places to eat in the area to the north of the Falls that were reasonable. Get the WeGo bus pass and then you don't have to navigate parking and traffic. Try the Behind the Falls walk and the Power Staion and tunnel walk, those were great.Guest review byFrancesUnited States - 6.0

Ottawa is an interesting city to visit with plenty of sights, galleries and museums. Unfortunately there are a lot of homeless who can be a little intimidating. Off all the cities we visited in Canada it also had the worst litter problem although nothing compared to some other countries.Guest review byHeatherUnited Kingdom - 10.0

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in: within Canada and abroad. I was concerned and had to check my credit card bill to make sure I wasn;t overcharged. Great service and experience for the price. I really appreciated the accomodations from staff concerning check-in, breakfast (I left for the airpirt early, and they were kind enough to pack me a too go bag) and the free coffee in the lobby. The satff went above and beyond to make sure guests had the best stay ever!Guest review bySusanne - 8.0

The city has done a great job with colorful
The city has done a great job with colorful flowers everywhere. Having said that it is a tourist trap, with overpriced everything. Would I return? No. I don’t need to throw good money away to feed this disease of taking advantage of people.Guest review byPaoloCanada - 10.0
The city looked so much cleaner than American cities.
The city looked so much cleaner than American cities. The traffic was controlled, the air was fresh, and the streets and sidewalks were clean and lighted. The urban blight so common in American cities was not visible, and the police presence was subtle but obvious.Guest review byDunkin - 10.0

Gananoque is a great location to visit all of the 1000...
Gananoque is a great location to visit all of the 1000 islands on the Canadian side. The town had some nice restaurants. The Old English Pub, Purple House and Grayson's at Wood View Inn. took a 5 Hour tour with City Cruises of the 100 Island with a stop at Boldens castle from the docks in town. It was fantastic. The vibe in town is very much geared to tourism. When i planned this trip I knew nothing about Gananoque, but I hit a home run.Guest review byJamesUnited States - 6.0

Windsor wasn't exactly a cultural experience, although it did seem to have a diverse population, which was nice to see. We didn't find any hip shopping districts or cool "strips." The view of the river and the Detroit skyline was very cool, and many people were utilizing the riverwalk in the evening after dark. There were plenty of identifiable security personnel who made even the less-lit areas of the park feel relatively safe.Guest review byTank
