The apartment was beautiful, quiet, clean, nicely laid out and the beds were really comfortable. Everything was quality from the bed sheets to the pillows and breakfast. The staff were fantastic too. Shout-out to Stella for answering all our questions and helping us out. The pool was also fantastic and the seats down at the lakeside are very tranquil. We also took advantage of the watersports. Highly recommend. This is a new hotel and if this level of quality is maintained we'll definitely be returning next year.

Pousada Marinheiro is a great little place right on the beach in Sitio do Conde (not to be confused with nearby Villa do Conde), and I must say our stay  - 4 people - was made all the more pleasant by our hosts, Marcos and Gleise, who were more than welcoming. Marcos is German, and Gleise is a Baiana, so you get the best of both worlds! It does get a little windy there, so bring a jumper or light jacket if you arrive in the winter and want to spend time outside ... and with the possibility to barbecue right on the beach or enjoy the most gorgeous sunrise right in front of your eyes why wouldn't you?!! Bahia's winter temperature averages 28°c, so cold it aint! Future plans, I understand, will include a swimming pool and possibly horseriding along the beach ... and I have seen more horses in this area, roaming free, than anywhere else on our travels, so you are in for a treat if you like horses  - they're simply everywhere! Inside, the rooms are spacious and simple, but cozy, and everything works as it should. You will be surrounded by maritime knick knacks and pictures of historical figures with a maritime past throughout, but that all adds to the charm. You will find that Pousada Marinheiro is quite modern, it being renovated just two years ago, and the tiled floors and bathroom show this well. Best of all, perhaps, is that there is no shortage of plugs (tomadas) - something severely lacking at other places we visited - and the wifi is the best I had experienced on our 10 day trip around the coast. Breakfast is what you'd expect at most pousadas and hotels in the Nordeste, and Marcos will go out of his way to ensure your eggs are freshly prepared just how you like them, and if you want more caramalised bananas or cheese and salami, just ask. And if you are a gringo, you're in for a real treat: the pousada has it's own supply of coconuts hanging on the palm tree in front of your room!

    We came to the hotel to experience all that it had to offer, as we had booked our wedding here in the coming months. Now that we’ve seen it first hand, we couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate our love here. For those interested in wedding-specific stuff, go to the bottom of the review 👇🏼 The room: Very spacious, huge bed, great for couples. The room also includes a sofa with a desk and a few chairs to do some work if needed. The bathroom is also pretty big and well equipped. Although it doesn’t have a bidet, there is a small convenient shower head next to the toilet. All that separates the bathtub from the actual room is a semitransparent glass. Although not great for privacy, pretty cool for couples. The food: The buffets have an abundance of food, for all tastes and preferences. It’s hard to complain here, and although not the best meals I’ve had in my whole life, there’s always something great to have. And there’s just so much food. You can get even more food near the pool and the beach. When we were there, the hotel was almost at full capacity, and still it was easy to find a table every time. Restaurants: There are 3 restaurants to go to besides the main buffet. They require reservations, and you can book a limited number depending on the length of the stay. When the hotel is near full capacity, they open a a fourth, which was the case when we were there. Bahia e Brasa (Rodizio, beef): the best. Waiters come and offer you different cuts of meat. An amazing experience all in all. Mediterranean: incredible food. Plates are pretty abundant. Japanese: food’s very good. They prepare the plates live which makes for a good show. Poseidon: although the worst of the four, this one is close to the beach so it has some charm. Food is still very good, don’t get me wrong. The beach: With out a doubt, the best part of the hotel. The water is warm but not hot, just the right temperature to refresh you from the scorching weather.

    Everything!! The food was wonderful.....always lots of selection. The pool area was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was exceptional. I was always able to find someone who could speak English to help me. The concierges were awesome.. especially Pedro, Eibe. Michele, and Laura. We used the gym daily and there was always someone to answer questions about unfamiliar machines. The nightly entertainment was very good.

    Praia do Forte is great for holidays. It has something for everyone. Plenty of restaurants, beach shopping and different types of beaches: natural swimming pools are the atraction but you can find some calm waters as well some deep ones. You won't run out of things to do there.

    A lively, bustling area with plenty to go for eating and shopping. It is less urban than Salvador but still very densely populated and active with everything you need close by. I felt safe, especially during the day. I didn't go out at night as much, so I can't comment on that. But it was beautiful and not too far from beaches or other attractions by car or ride share.

    Imbassai is a small town with basic services.

    Imbassai is a small town with basic services. I recommend to rent a car o pick taxis after the sunset, and move to Praia Do Forte (only 10 minutes by car) where you can find many good restaurants and shops. But to rest and enjoy the beach, Imbassai is undoubtely better.

    Great location - easy to go from Salvador airport or from the city. Nice location, specially a good idea in the Coronavirus crisis. The hotel was about 50% of the capacity, which allowed us to enjoy without any concern of too many people in the same spot. We could enjoy the beach, the swimming pool and also the meals without a lot of people together. We need to book all meals, and the staff was very organized and carefull about it. I was very happy with this alternative!

    It s a calm place, only guests could acess this point of the beach. The sea in fronto of the hotel is rough, not good for kids . If you walk to the turning point at left, you have calmer waters, and also some local bars and a small village. The beach is beautiful, they did not have beach service neither chairs, but I dont know if is due to covid restrictions

    I liked very much my stay.

    I liked very much my stay. Everything in the resort worked. The staff very well trained in all sectors. Very friendly and helpful. Always a smile . The meals are very nice, fresh products, fishes , shrimps, calamari and good fruits. Good meats. All food done with care.Again very nice people doing their work in the best way . Congratulations to everyone who is part of this time.

    We finally got to the beach that is nice but extra trash...

    We finally got to the beach that is nice but extra trash laying around very smelly and unhealthy..... several people tried to bump me while shopping to try to get into my fanny pack. We are still in town but I do not ever feel safe here.

    The Welcome is poor if you speak only English? Without PORTUGESE you cannot survive on this resort!!! They also send you all Messages before arrival in ONLY PORTUGESE, that do not tell you that you have to load their APP to be able to check in to the hotel :( :( REALLY POOR until you get the room!

    Great service.

    Great service. Climate is perfect, when there is rain, usually a shower and the sun appears again. Beach is so beautiful, although in open sea, it is possible to bath and even dive in the waves. Sand is very soft and there is plenty of area to stretch under an umbrella, have fun or just relax and rest at sea sound.

    There are con artists running the hotel we stayed in...

    There are con artists running the hotel we stayed in including violence by staff, localbusinesses willgreatly increase prices when they realize you are what they consider a rich american. I hate this hotel and the low class behavior of management and staff.
