Even though we got the suite without the direct view over the valley, the room has its own deck out the back where you can watch the sunrise in the morning from the bar table, and an outdoor bed to chill or read a book.

The set-up is ingenious and really takes advantage of the space. The location is also incredible - in the middle of the bush with kangaroos and wild birds on the doorstep, but also close to places such as Australia Zoo, Maleny Botanic Garden and Bird World, and Sunshine Coast. Wendy is also such a lovely host and made me feel welcome and comfortable.

Maleny is a quaint, beautiful and magical place. We loved the trail from the property into town, loved to walk around the little boutique shops and also great that all amenities can be bought there. Montville is a lovely little locale with some great dining spots, art studios and natural elements to enjoy. We liked our brunch at Priscilla's Gallery and had yummy scones at Poet's Cafe. We also had some nice dinners in the Bar and Grill - good wines there too. We also enjoyed listening to the live music from the beer garden. Nambour is an old established town but it provides easy and quick access to the Sunshine Coast( around 20 mins to the Sunshine Coast airport) where accommodation could be considerably more expensive. My stay in the Nambour Heights Motel was directly opposite the Nambour Hospital and relatively close to other places in the area. It was 11 minutes from the Buderim Ginger Factory and very close to the Big Pineapple. The main attraction in Beerwah is Australia Zoo but we actually skipped the zoo this time and opted out for a quieter and more peaceful trip. There are so many beautiful landscapes and walks to enjoy in the area and it's only a short drive to Maleny or Montville as well. If you are seeking a relaxing experience, I'd definitely recommend visiting those two little towns. We enjoyed the Thai Restaurant in Maleny and strolls through the streets of Montville followed by a hearty lunch at The Edge Restaurant. What a beautiful area. Coming froM SA were we are in drought it was great rto see everything so green and lush. Many little quaint towns to visit. Hiking in the area is always fantastic. The shops are quaint and quirky if that's your thing (not really mine) but for me it's the region's nature that keeps me coming back. To that end, there are pretty limited mid-range accommodation options that aren't in the townships. Some areas have more of that sort of thing nestled right among the mountains and forests, whereas in this area that kind of accommodation is harder to find and more expensive - though if you're willing to head down the range to the Eudlo area (it's only a 20 minute drive) you can do well staying there and taking day trips up the mountains.Guest review byRobAustralia - 8.0

We based ourselves at Brightside Landsborough. Breakfast in Landsborough - The Steaming Cup and 22 Cribb St French Patisserie - different but great breakfast at both - good service. We dined at the Landsborough Pub, The Terrace Seafood Maleny, Warrior Restaurant & Bar - All had at least one standout dish. Landsborough Pub - Lamb Shank & Pork Ribs; The Terrace Seafood - Fresh Oysters and The Terrace Surf & Turf - OMG - steak so tender and locally sourced; Warrior - Qld Tiger Prawn Bites - Citrus infused prawn meat, on a prawn cracker, native pepper berry aioli, salmon roe - bliss in a mouthful or two. Staff at The Terrace Seafood and Warrior were outstanding. We visited Maleny Botanical Gardens & Bird World - a definite must, definitely do the bird tour and hire a buggy for an hour to check out the gardens. Landsborough Museum - free entry and a step back in time - worth a visit! The Ginger Factory at Yandina - if you love ginger a definite must do - tour is informative and train ride is fun - plenty of ginger products to purchase. Great property for family travelling with ensuite bathrooms. The property is dated but it meats the style of an old Queenslander. If it was modernised would spoil character.Great wrap round verandah which is gated and can be closed off for young children to safely play.
