The staff accommodated an early access to room as I had booked a spa before check in. The room was amazing, so luxurious and funky. Everything was amazing. It was my birthday so was a very special stay. I used the spa, had a treatment, ate and drank on the wet deck. I fully appreciated the 12pm check out. I ordered room service and really made the most of the room.

An amazing experience to stay at JW Marriott. The staff was very courteous and caring. Rooms were very nice and had great views. The best part was the breakfast at Citrique which has one of the most elaborate spreads that I had seen. Lots of options for vegetarian as well. And desserts that were quite delicious. The pool area is also very nice and cozy. Lots of lounging chair. They even have a large heated pool and a heated jacuzzi. Don't miss them if you are there.

Room was very nice, liked the modern finishings with automatic curtains and blinds. The bed was VERY comfortable and the view was lovely. Downstairs at the casino the bar staff were lovely and remembered the drink I'd previously ordered which was a nice touch. The cafe did a beautiful breakfast and the staff there were polite and helpful.

Cook your own breakfast is a novel idea which wasn't clearly communicated and only on cracking a raw egg thinking it was boiled did I realise this was the case. It was a great experience to grill my own breakfast and enjoy the freshly baked bread after the rainforest hike neighbouring the venue. The spa bath and shower are great too.

Very nice and spacious unit. Kids loved pool and water slides. We stayed in the three bedroom unit and had two beds and two baths together, then living space, then master bedroom and ensuite at other end of unit. Could easily accommodate a family plus grandparents or a family plus another couple or small family.

Brisbane is an ordinary Queensland city.

Brisbane is an ordinary Queensland city. It is basically boring with few cultural, scenic or other highlights. We did find an excellent Vietnamese restaurant in Hamilton. South Bank has much to offer families. The ferry service on the river is a very good and inexpensive public transport system, but slow.

The Gold Coast is a vibrant friendly place with great public transport, awesome shopping and excellent eating. People are helpful and there is plenty to see and do. The river is absolutely beautiful and I would highly recommend a river cruise! Beaches are clean and not too crowded and the night markets on the weekends are a must!

Having lived in Cairns previously and now return regularly to see family and friends, while there is a lot about the crime there in the media, i have never experienced it myself. It is important to lock your car and be aware of your surroundings and not flash money or personal wealth around, but i dont think this problem is any worse then anywhere else. The climate is great, and even if it rains, it is warm rain and soon dries. Great opportunitues to see the reef and rainforest. Prices are geared towards tourists so wouldnt do these tours too often, but for a lifetime experience, they are good.

We visited during the annual festival of flowers. Gardens are lovely. There's also interesting things to do for train enthusiasts. Plenty of shopping and dining options without the stampede of big cities. I was pleasantly surprized by the amount of green spaces and parks. Plenty of space to read a book, picnic or just walk through parks. Lovely museum and cafes to suite your needs

I can understand why this is a busy holiday destination! Beautiful town with great restaurants and a superb 4 mile long beach (subsequently named ;-)). The town has such a relaxed feel about it and one could easily laze away the day at a cafe or beach, or take a ship and go out to explore the reef! I will definitely head back for a longer stay in the future!

Hervey Bay is the best place in the world to see Humpback Whales whether for the juvenials that are people curious (known as August whales) or the Mothers and Calves which arrive from early September through to the end of October. My focus is only on the whales but there are various trips to K'Gari (formerly Fraser Island) either by organised bus tours, self drive or by boat to the West side where kyaking and beach tours plus whale watching in season is available. See Tasman Venture web site for details.
