This was the best hotel that we stayed in. The breakfast was delicious the variety of food was good. We really enjoyed the afternoon snack. Dinner was excellent. The room was spacious and very clean. bed and pillows very comfy. Bathroom was also spacious and modern. The location was excellet. The service from all the staff at Hotel Zugspitz was awesome!

Me and my wife traveled with a baby boy 1 year and 10 months old , The hotel exceeded our expectation , For the first time I felt as I owe to them, Staff is very responsive and helpful , I would like specially to thank, Mr Bozilov and Svetlana from reception . We were with breakfast, lunch and dinner . Quality of food is excellent , very delicious , Service in restaurant exceeded my expectation . Location is very quiet , it makes stay relaxing And joyful . Outdoor and indoor space are enough to Serve all needs for all Ages ! We made friends with family from Dortmund , they told me , They like it so much , That they will make this hotel Their annual holiday . So summary we highly recommend this hotel !!!     Beautiful village, access to Zugspitze, Partnach Gorge, great olde world charm, stunning views, fresh air, great place to holiday and relax. Free buses to get around, great Asian food just around the corner, probably 100 metres and reasonably priced. Great trip to Lindenhof palace and gardens, Zugspitze, Partnach Gorge and Mittenwald Cow Parade, the highlight of my stay in Garmisch Partenkirchen.

    The DE-ticket works between Ehrwald and Garmish, despite that Ehrwald is in Austria, so one can travel freely there. The Zugspitze, Sonnenspitze and other locations are reachable by train/bus/cable car from Ehrwald. The Seebensee is fantastic lake, one can get there by a bus+cable car and using and normal road or a bus and a rather difficult via ferrata. Also there is an indoor climbing (about 15m high) gym with 4 automatic belaying stations in Ehrwald, so one can climb even during bad weather conditions.

    Mittenwald has a lot to offer for all ages and interests. The historical city centre has a number of sights and a good choice of restaurants - for many the real beauty begins once you leave the city. From taking cable cars, walking along the river or through the forest to climbing peaks up to around 2,500 m, the natural surroundings are stunning. The city does a good job at offering public buses that take tourists to the most important sights and trailheads, giving us the chance to leave the car at home and help preserve the gem that Mittenwald is!

    Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey. Which is certainly impressive. You'll most likely visit Ettal for the region, as it is a great point to start your hikes and/or visit Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkichen. Munchen and Innsbruck are only an hour drive away.

    We usually like to visit Lermoos for a short vacation. The best thing about our one night stay this time was the Sevim Holzofen Pizzeria. Awesome food and such a warm welcome. Unfortunately this time we had a very poor experience staying at 'keyone' accommodation.

    Farchant is a great stay if you want to be out of the busyness of Garmisch-Partenkirchen but not too far away to be a moment away. Great local food and welcoming people, have been coming here for years and plan to return. The atlas hotel has a great restaurant with lots of choice and it’s easy to get to with the train station from Munich or Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

    We did not spend any time in Berwang proper except overnight...

    We did not spend any time in Berwang proper except overnight in our accommodations. However, it was perfectly located for our planned day trips - visits to the peak of the Zugspitze, nearby alpine lakes, and castle visits (Ehrenberg, Hohenschwangau, and Neuschwanstein), including a walk back and forth over the Highline 179 suspension bridge and ziplining down to the parking lot. If we had had more time, would have spent it exploring Berwang itself. Can't say enough about how beautiful the area is.
