We had breakfast and dinner there, which were both nice. Being 2 minutes away from the balcony track was also a plus. The surrounding area seems still being authentic and the only thing you hear are goats and sheep.

Check-in perfect, all accommodation was only for us (2 bedrooms, each with bathroom), there is outside kitchen to use. There aren't any restaurants and shops, so if you know it before, you are prepared :-). It's cottage with breath taking views, close to the beginning of W6 path (balcony walk). You don't need a 4x4 car, road is dusty, but if you go slowly it's OK. I can fully recommend this property.

Mahmood is an excellent host who fully embodies the spirit of Omani hospitality. He was quick to reply via Booking.com and WhatsApp, always around and more than happy to answer my numerous questions — from the general ones about his country, to the very specific ones about the area. He keeps booklets in English with hiking trail maps, useful information about Oman and a crash course on Omani dress code and culture. He founded the hostel as he wanted to meet people from different cultures and that’s clearly visible by the scratch map of countries he’s hosted people from and his currency notes collection. Whilst I only stayed a single night (would have loved to stay longer), he took me and the other two guests out for an authentic meal in Al Hamra! Go stay with Mahmood, he’s an awesome and caring guy.

We were a bit late with our trip to the place, but the owner was waiting us with a fair in the garden. He welcomed us with traditional oman coffee and dates. Highly recommend his place. Very styled furnished rooms. In the kitchen you have the necessary stuff. There is enough place to park two or three cars in the yard and more in front.
