We went there in winter, but the heater worked splendidly so cold was never an issue. The staff is helpful and nice. And of course, you're at walking distance of a ton of restaurants, and hardly 20 minutes walking from Durbar Square. If we come back to Kathmandu there's no other option for us.

Just a small note: the path is a little steep, so keep that in mind if you’re carrying a heavy backpack or rolling luggage. We were really lucky that the owner gave us one of his best rooms on the top floor — with a breathtaking 270° view. The room itself is spacious, simply furnished, and has a balcony. Honestly, the view says it all: on clear days you can see the Annapurna (from the terrace), and when it’s cloudy, you still get a sweeping look over the city, valley, lake, and even people paragliding. Absolutely stunning! Breakfast was simple but delicious, with portions that were more than generous. One evening, they even asked if we’d like dinner and served a home-cooked dal bhat that was really good. You can choose to eat in the dining area downstairs or upstairs, where the views keep you company. Note: Meals come with reasonable charge. ⭐ 200% for the view and hospitality!
