He made sure that our trips into the forest were bespoke experiences, based on our interests. He was amazing. The food and the chef at Aikawa are extraordinary

The accommodation features a 24-hour front desk, airport transfers, room service and free WiFi. Bishnu (the owner) is absolutely wonderful!! His tours are fantastic!! The walking tour into the jungle is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever experienced! Also I did the Jeep safari with him and it was incredible! I saw at least 20 rhinos during me time there, wild bison, so many different types of deer and monkeys and so many other birds and things. He is so knowledgeable about the plants and the jungle and history of the area! We also talked about how healthy mud huts are. The lodge itself consists of these quant huts with lovely porches where you can read. Mosquito nets over the bed but there seemed to be less mosquitoes here than in Pokhara. I stayed here 4-5 days! It was wonderful!!

The evening was filled with a Tharu dance cultural program whose venue is right next to the hotel. It was a memorable and pleasant stay for me in Sauraha.

Both WiFi and private parking are accessible at the lodge free of charge. Magical place! Toilets are clean, shower is hot and in open air which I love. Food is the best I’ve tasted yet. So many amazing treehouses. Host is great. Amazing places to chill (ex. Library, meditation, etc) you can also rent a bike from there. I highly recommend!

The Tharu Village is 100 metres from the property. The Sauraha Bus Station is 3.5 km while the Bharatpur Airport is 20 km. The rooms were very comfortable and beautifully designed. Loved the bath tub!! The pool area was very relaxing. The gardens were also nicely kept and manicured. All the staff were friendly and the food was exceptional.

Sapana Village Lodge aims to support the local community, including the indigenous people of the Terai region. The property features a restaurant, a coffee shop and a spa. Sapana has an ethos which runs through everything they do and clearly luminates the smiles of all the staff there. The location is a 10minute walk to the main tourist area, yet it is so peaceful and relaxing. Being able to interact with the elephants without endorsing elephant riding or bathing was our main attraction to the place, and this place did not disappoint, these rescued elephants are so visibly loved and cared for at Sapana! Out of all the things we have done during our 5months in Nepal, staying here was most definitely a highlight. We also highly recommend the candle light dinner with the elephants, it was a truly unique experience from the beautiful table setting to the elephant meeting. We would return to Sapana village in a heartbeat.
