When I arrived I could barely exit the taxi, as I was feeling incredibly sick. The chef supported me while I walked towards a chair. During our stay I needed to rest and stay in bed. Everyday the owner of the residence called to check up on me and offered me a dokter. It felt like he genuinely cared. So did the other staff members who were super attentive and made sure I didn’t lack anything. I can’t highlight it enough, the surroundings here are amazing. The perfect place to relax in the nature while being looked after by great staff.

Really refreshing in the hot weather. We had papaya and water melon mojitos.... wow. Pool is amazing and you can feel the freshness. Tracking is highly recommended. Very informal place and you feel relaxed the moment you enter silver hill.

I loved it from the very beginning. I usually travel with public transportation and Nadie helped me to get to their place from the main nearby town and later gave me a ride back. She also was very helpful with organizing for me a transport to main sights in the area - Arankele Forest Monastery and Ridi Viharaya (I had a scooter but it was also possible to go with a tuk tuk driver). Breakfast and dinner were made at home and they were delicious and the portions were big enough. I also had some fresh fruit juices and fruits, it was amazing! There is also a nice swimming pool with trees and bushes around. It’s so beautiful 😍 Important to note that there is almost no internet connection there, I don’t find it as a disadvantage but if you want to work online from there, that might be impossible. However, if you want to relax, go offline and enjoy the nature as me - that’s the best place to go! Thank you Nadie for taking such a great care of me! I will definitely be back! 🥰

At the hotel, all rooms come with a terrace with a garden view. The units at Hotel Chanaya come with a private bathroom and bed linen. First of all, the location was great. It is just right at the main road, but once you’ve reached your room you feel like you are in the jungle. The host did everything to make us feel at home. Chaminda even took us into the jungle for the full local experience. If you are lucky you can even spot wild elephants in the area!! Also don’t forget to visit the hut where a nice lady sells hoppers (aks for it to the host) Thank you so much for the stay❤️
