This kind of people makes the difference when traveling like we do, where the main goal is to enjoy the culture and people, as much as the places we visit. Allen went way beyond expectations on helping us with whatever we may need (from train schedules, arranging a great driver for a day-long tour, giving us recommendations for local places, to taking his bike and buying us some cold beers after hours, or getting up to prepare us an unusually early morning breakfast to go, due to our very early schedule), overall making us feel like his true guests despite the commercial relationship. Well-travelled, Jaffna-native but with many years in Europe, Allen is the kind of person that you hope you have more time to get to know better, and that will remain as a highlight of any trip. The property is his own home, where you rent some rooms. It is a very quiet spot in a green and shady compound in a cul-de-sac, a great respite from some of the Jaffna frenzy. Located a quick 5-min. tuk-tuk ride from the train station, it is also near the main Hindu temple of the city, a couple of blocks away. The room we rented had its own exclusive bathroom, but crossing the living room. There was another room with a full private bathroom, not available at the time. The house has a quaint feeling, very cozy and clean. The AC in the room worked fine and it was very welcomed. Breakfast was great, abundant and tasty, prepared by Allen on the spot.

Absolutely lovely stay at Munril Guest! The rooms are spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with both air conditioning and a fan. The villa itself is beautiful, with a peaceful and green setting just a few minutes by tuk-tuk from the city center, a perfect balance of quiet and convenience. The facilities are excellent, but what really stands out is the incredible friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts. They even offered free rides to local sights, which was a wonderful bonus. Breakfast was also delicious and well-prepared. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Jaffna!

Borassus Nature Huts by ABC Leisure's group está ubicado en Jaffna, a 8,8 km de Jaffna Fort y a 10 km de Jaffna Public Library. Ofrece alojamiento con un restaurante y estacionamiento privado gratis. A wonderful experience here. Quite remote and next to a sleepy fishing village, the huts have been lovingly constructed using local materials. They are open to the elements, which allows the fresh ocean breeze to blow through (quite strongly at times!) and keep the rooms cool. Mosquito nets are provided, although we didn’t see any mosquitoes - but still offers protection from various bugs that visit at night, and the pesky flies during the daytime. Some of the huts have steep stairs to access the bedroom upstairs, while the bathroom and toilet are situated separately downstairs (not recommended for the elderly or disabled). However, three new huts have recently opened, that are ground level and have attached bathrooms. The whole place has been built with regard to ecological concerns. The staff (also hired locally) are wonderful and there is a very talented young chef named Ashwin who, in addition to preparing delicious meals, acts as a general manager in the absence of the owner. The property also has its own tuk tuk, which is handy for trips around the island or to Jaffna (29 km away). We would definitely recommend a stay here - it’s a totally different and unique experience, among lovely hospitable people.

Located by a coral beach, surrounded by palm trees and the sound of the wind, this is the perfect spot if you're looking for peace and beauty. We had delicious dinner and breakfast, cooked by the host family, and enjoyed the shower under the tree! If you love nature, don't miss this little, rustic paradise!

The house owner Mr Biren Mahendran is very cooperative when booking the house. And the location is very peaceful, beautiful and secure. Well sufficient for a family or a group. Rooms are well cleaned and furniture are modern. Having a modern kitchen with all the necessary equipment. Really enjoyed the stay. The caretaker Mr Kerthi was very much helpful and he's fluent in Sinhala and English. Worth the money. Located in 550m away from Jaffna-KKS road and 9.5 Km away from Jaffna.

Bathrooms nice with great water pressure. VJ welcomed us with a drink and in the morning prepared a beautiful western breakfast. A first time experience and he did it very well.
