Gabaa Resort was the perfect escape for all travelers . The staff was welcoming, and the surroundings were peaceful. The room was clean and comfortable, providing a great place to unwind. Despite my short stay, I enjoyed every moment and felt rejuvenated. Highly recommend for a quick, refreshing getaway.

I wish I had more than one night in this beautiful property. From before arrival to departure the hosts could not have done more to ensure we had an enjoyable stay. They reached out to see if they could offer any assistance and after hearing we were travelling via train, offered to pick us up in their tuk. Although it was only 2 km from the station, we were grateful as it started raining just before we arrived. On arrival we were offered a welcome drink and shown the rooms. It’s a very private property, set apart from the main house, and offers 2 separate rooms which are perfect for families and small groups. The rooms are well designed and appointed with mosquito nets, a/c and hot water. There are great views from inside and out, with a number of different areas to sit, relax and enjoy the lake views. We enjoyed a fantastic home cooked dinner in the outdoor covered dining area and breakfast in the elevated hut on the lakefront which was perfect for watching all the birds. The dining area also had a fridge (if you want to byo), kettle and filtered water. We chose this place due to its proximity to Hurulu (the hosts also helped with organising the safari), but I hope to return and enjoy more of the great food and hospitality.

I spent three nights at Oleena Homestay and had an amazing experience. Jeewa provided great recommendations for things to do in the area, helped organise transport, and even took me on a day trip to Pidurangala and Dambulla in his tuk tuk. The home-cooked meals by Masha were absolutely delicious — a perfect introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Jeewa and Masha truly went above and beyond to take care of their guests. I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Habarana and the surrounding area. The staff was amazing. He was really helping and welcoming and always with a smile. He helped us with everything: took us to Pidurangala rock, and the Golden Buda. He also offered himself to look after our luggage while we were visiting Dambulla. The guest house is amazing. The location is perfect, really quiet and in the middle of the nature, perfect for relaxing and escape from the crowds. Amazing breakfast included.. I truly recommend it.

Breakfast was very good and the hosts asked many times if we need anything more. We also took the dinner which was delicious Sri lankan food. But the best part is the family running the place. The main coordinator Dulshan speaks fluet english and can arrange for you just about anything. This place will stay with us for a long time and if we ever return to Sri Lanka we are going here without a shadow of a doubt !
