The property is non-smoking and is situated 400 metres from Gion Shijo Station. Excellent hotel in the main area of Kyoto. The hotel room was a standard size for Kyoto, however the layout and organizational characteristics were the best I’ve seen in Japan. We had a room facing over the rooftops of old Kyoto

I like the breakfast the best! There is a lot of options, both Japanese and Western. A bit pricey, but value for money.

Kinosaki Onsen, Toyooka
Facing the central shopping street of the Kinosaki Onsen hot spring area, Morizuya offers authentic Japanese-style accommodation, hot spring baths and Japanese dining. Guests can wear colourful yukata robes at the property. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout. Staying at Morizuya was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. This cozy, family-run ryokan radiates warmth and hospitality. Manager Hachisuka and his family do everything they can to make you feel at home, and our stay truly exceeded expectations. The ryokan is charming and traditional. We stayed in a spacious, comfortable tatami room with beautiful décor and a view of a peaceful garden. The room included a private toilet and sink, while bathing is done in their private onsen (yes, private — no need to bathe with others if that makes you uncomfortable). Morizuya provides yukata for men and women, sandals, bags, towels, and an onsen pass for the town’s seven public baths. Women can also choose a kimono for going out around town and shopping, while men can (and should!) relax in their yukata for this same purpose. I especially want to highlight how Manager Hachisuka truly went above and beyond. He’s not only an excellent photographer — taking beautiful photos of my fiancée and me among the cherry blossoms and guiding us to great photo spots — but also incredibly kind and attentive. He personally helped us with our schedule and drove us to the station early in the morning to ensure we caught our train on time. That level of care is something we’ll never forget. If you’re unsure where to stay, I strongly recommend Morizuya. We left with beautiful and unforgettable memories of this warm and authentic experience in Kinosaki. A few quick tips about the bath: There are two onsen inside the inn. From 7 AM to 3 PM, they’re public (men/women separated). From 3 PM to 11 PM they become private — no reservation needed. If the door’s unlocked, it’s available. Go in, lock the door behind you and enjoy. You’re welcome to bathe with your family or partner. Be sure to shower and clean yourself before entering the bath. Walking around town in your yukata(or kimono) is part of the charm, so don’t be shy — it’s all part of the experience.

Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also provides guests with a sun terrace. Kishu Museum of Art is 1.4 km away and Heisogen Park is 1.5 km from the apartment. We love this place. It is very peaceful and a nice 15 minute walk to many restaurants and beach. The staff made us feel so welcome. The bakery is top notch. I have had very delicious baked goods in multiple European countries, and this is right up there. We thought at first the mattress was a little firm(this seems standard in Japan), but ended up sleeping well.

Featuring koshihikari rice made in a donabe and fresh egg for TKG!The private onsen and sauna were excellent. The hotel is a modern hotel in traditional Ryokan style. It is part of the Dormy Inn chain and is excellent. The rooms all over look the river estuary. The hot springs baths in the hotel are excellent It is not in central Kinosaki but they have frequent shuttle minibus to town. If you would like western style breakfast they can offer but you need give the hotel notice.
Very clean and comfortable and good location with a lot of hot springs, free noodles and ice cream for midnight snacks
Awesome hot springs hotel in Kyoto. Location is good, 10 min walk to the Kyoto Station. Has everything you need in the hotel. Highly recommend the breakfast buffet they got so much food. Appreciate that they give you a passcode for the women’s laundry as well as the onsen to make women feel safer. Whole facility very clean.
Located only a couple short streets away from the Nara park complex. Private onsen times available. Typical Ryokan style rooms, but kept very clean. Lovely staff who speak great English. Would definitely stay again.
It is very clean! And right across from the station. The individual bed sections offer great privacy. The onsen (hot springs) across the train station is great. There is plenty to see in this "maguro" city! Great WiFi.
the quality of the food was amazing - the variety of foods was top class - the three types of onsen were very enjoyable. I particularly liked the outdoor onsen - the staff who helped us catch buses were very helpful- the location right on the bus route and right on the river with the hot springs was wonderful.
Very comfortable and cozy, but also modern Ryokan. The accommodation was very clean, also the private Onsen. The beds were super comfortable and the whole atmosphere was just great.
A welcoming and cosy place in a beautiful spot where you can dig your own hot spring in river banks, whilst also having two private onsen to boot.
Great location and very clean facilities. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We were able to book 40min private onsen inside the ryokan - amazing! Tea is offered in a lovely box tray in the room. Very quiet location with good restaurants around. 5min walk from the Nara park
Gorgeous ryokan with good onsens. It was my first traditional Japanese hotel and onsen, so I was very impressed by hospitality, kaiseki dinner, the view, the room with tatami, yukata and hot springs. Totally recommend it!
