Mr Chan is a godsend. My husband and I didn't expect to be spoilt rotten by his spectacular host abilities - from transporting us to and from the bus terminal, to cooking our daily breakfast, to pointing out the best slopes, sorting out ski/snowboard rentals and issues, even lending us bus money when we didn't have enough on the last day (which we paid back promptly). The room cleaning service was also very prompt. He even gave us onsen tickets on the last day??? There are no words to describe how grateful we are, no idea what we've done to deserve this. Rooms were super clean, neat, heated, and showering facilities were amazing. There was a dry room where our rented equipment were dropped off and picked up. The bus stop to Happo One (Nakiyama) slopes were just out the front door. This has been the best accommodation experience in our lives and we definitely will be back. It truly felt like a cosy home away from home. Thank you Mr Chan from the bottom of our hearts!

Nothing fancy but everything was comfortable and clean. We had dinner in the lodge and it was very handy as finding restaurant availability in Hakuba can be a challenge during ski season. Most importantly the lady at the front desk was so nice and helpful. 2 out of our 4 snowboard bags went missing by our luggage delivery service. She made phone calls and got it all sorted. She was very gracious and worked through the language barrier. Above and beyond service!

The hosts are kind and thoughtful and gave us very good advice for dinner locally and for our next destination. Best of all, the breakfast was delicious and kept us going all day. Our room was small, but we knew that when we booked so we were not bothered by that in any way. Aovely way to break up the trip from Tokyo to Kamikochi if you have a car and it is worth a visit just for the sake of being there.

Lovely place to stay on a quiet street in Hakuba a short walk to restaurants and shuttle for skiing. Owners are wonderful people. Extremely helpful and friendly. The private onsen is nice after a day on the slopes.

A 10 minutos a pie de Happo One Ski Resort, los huéspedes del Log Cottage Epoch pueden alquilar una casa entera. Cottage was warm and cozy; had heated floors, which was so comfortable and relaxing after a long day skiing. The place was very clean and spacious for our family of 4. We especially were surprised that our particular unit had 2 toilets and 2 showers!

Also available was a proper Japanese-style bathing room just like you'd find at any public bath house. We found the location great as well; wonderfully dark and quiet at night.
