The De Saram House is a beautiful architectural gem in the heart of a leafy neighborhood in central Colombo. I stay here whenever I am in town as it is comfortable with restrained elegance and always affable, kind and generous staff. Why stay in a bland hotel when you can be in a home of architectural significance and feel like you can escape from it all?! The staff here are extremely welcoming and attentive. That's the first thing that struck us as we walked into the hotel. While making conversation when checking in we mentioned to Carder the duty Manager that the reason for our stay was my wife's birthday. He very kindly upgraded us to a "Club" room on a high floor and had a small cake and card sent up to the room when we got in. Very touching gesture! The room was tastefully furnished, comfortable, clean and had all the modern amenities with a great view of the sea and part of the city. A perfect location for business or vacation!

This place was stunning and what made it even more exceptional was the staff, from reception to the cooks, waiters and security, nothing was ever too much trouble. The rooftop pool was amazing especially after a hot day sightseeing. Would definitely come back here.
