Both the blue lagoon and the airport were relatively near the hotel which was very practical. There was a volcano eruption 2 years ago so the town was abandoned. It feels like a ghost town with kms of cooled lava around it which is interesting. The husband/wife duo that runs it - were there when needed to support, answer questions and provide helpful tips. The house was spacious, super clean and guests staying there were super respectful of others and kept it clean and tidy. There is a restaurant very next to it (belongs to another hotel) so getting morning coffee or breakfast was easy. Other wise although a good place this property is located is sort of drab, industrial, Wearhouse looking area. We wanted a reasonable and comfortable stay near Blue Lagoon. It was absolutely amazing. The staff is extraordinarily friendly and kind. The restaurant is very good. Of course, we visited the Blue Lagoon, which was a great experience. The hotel offers a shuttle service, but ist’s just a 20 minute walk through the lava fields that is an adventure on its own (on a solid path of course).
