We had the best time here. The hotel is very central so you can walk to most of the sights. Rooms were very clean and got cleaned on request. Breakfast is served in their partner hotel, which is just a minute away and has a beautiful view on the acropolis. All the staff were so kind and helpful. We will definitely come back here again!

Acropolis

Long before it became known as Bloomfield Falls, this magnificent waterfall was called Wujal Wujal by the indigenous Kuku Yalanji people. Hire a guide and learn why these people still consider Wujal Wujal to be sacred. Or just head down with your 4x4 and a picnic hamper, and have lunch in serious style!

A must to visit, it is climbable, I am 75 and with help from my daughter I made it to just before the top, I'm afraid of heights so didn't make the top with the crowds. Best time to go is 8am, our time was changed to 10am, due to a strike. If you are unable to climb the steps there is a cart that takes you to a lift which takes you to the top.

Go very early in the day, or very late, to avoid the huge crowds. Buy your timed tickets in advance, and they are separate from the museum. The museum is great, but there are several better collections in the center of Athens.

Nice to see but 30 euro is really too much for seing a few stones. Not much left of this area, like most temples of ancient Greece. We were a bit dissapointed. Greeks build an immage on the old history. A lot more labour of reconstruction could be done by escavating areas and putting the pieces together to look more like the original. Visitors should at least be permitted to walk inside the area of the temple.

Ancient wonder. It was a beautiful day when we visited the Acropolis. Majestic structure against blue skies. Tough parts of the monument is under renovation, the pathway for tourists was very well marked. People could walk around find the best photography angels and just soak in the history.

Athens is a wonderful city to visit & explore… however, beware of Rogue Taxi 🚖 drivers! If they don’t display their photo/licence walk away! Even if they put on the “meter” it’s best to ask for a price and not accept an astronomical cost on arrival !🥺 The fare from Airport to Athens is around 50€ NOT 120€ which we were charged by 1 bandit in August! We found a very honest & friendly Taxi driver who spoke English - works for a company called “Athens My Transfer” check it on-line.

We were very pleased with the apartment. It's a great option for a family or group of friends. The hostess was quick to contact and the check-in instructions were clear. Both the house and the apartment were very clean. The photos are accurate. The location is very convenient for exploring Athens, just 5 minutes from the Acropolis. I definitely recommend it!

It’s a great studio apartment in the heart of Monastiraki. The hosts were so lovely and friendly and really helpful, even storing our luggage on the last day. The area is buzzing with loads of places to eat, including some great non-touristy spots, and you can walk to the Acropolis easily. The metro line to the airport is just a few minutes walk away. Breakfast at the pizza place nearby was a nice perk. Super convenient and comfortable stay in Athens.

The apartment is perfectly located at the heart of Psiri. It offers two bedrooms with two double beds and air conditioning everywhere, perfect for two couples or two people who want to sleep separately. The apartment is new and very clean. The towels are luxurious. The bathroom is new and offers upscale shampoo and shower gel. You can spot the Acropolis from the terrace. Overall, it is a perfect spot for your trip to Athens. I would strongly recommend and love to stay there again. Thank you!

Go beyond the Acropolis and explore the Agora and Kerameikos, imagining yourself entering Athens along the road from the port of Piraeus, and following the Panathenaic Way to the Akropolis. Stop at the museums along the way to understand the significance of each site. Then visit the National Archaeological Museum to see that classical Athens is just one of Greece's many magnificent cultures.

If you want to avoid crowds while seeing the famous sights, start out early and be at the sights when they open. I arrived at the Acropolis around 8:10 AM and there were only around 20 people on the whole compound. It was wonderful! There was a crowd climbing the hill when I descended, though!

Consider visiting Athens in May or September.

Consider visiting Athens in May or September. May is just lovely. Spring flowers like poppies and daisies cover the hills. It's not too busy and not too hot. Remember that on holidays you are always moving so consider the weather when you make your plans. Also, research opening hours as the Acropolis is closed May 1; and other Ancient Landmarks are closed on certain days and on certain hours any other day.
