We liked Bellrock Lodge and this little village so much, we even extended our stay! :) It is worth staying longer in Kororareka Russell and especially at Bellrock Lodge, so let us tell you why: Bellrock Lodge is situated on a little hill (if you walk, there are a few steep meters) and because of that, you will have the most amazing views from your terrace over the coast. On clear days you will even see as far as Waitangi. The apartment and the terrace are quite spacious, even the bathroom offers more than usual space in rental properties. It is very nice equipped. The garden is beautiful so you also see beautiful garden greenery from the terrace. The hosts Catherine and Stuart are very kind and responded fast via WhatsApp. Their sweet dog Piper was also a great host and excited to offer play time with her favorite football and such :D Catherine and Stuart were always very hospitable, so for instance, if you get in a morning rain like us, getting new towels is easy peasy, just a message/call away ;-) The Lodge offers great amendities: laundry, dryer, DVD Library (great selection, we loved it), CD and Book Library aswell... To top it off, the Whirlpool and BBQ area are great, with superb views also. We loved to enjoy the Spa, especially on rainy days. In addition to that, we highly appreciated how thoughtful everything is equipped, there are umbrellas in the driveway, wineglasses from plastic for the Spa, different chairs (even comfy reading/TV chairs), more than 2 different towel sizes and many more things like that.. We have travelled a lot and Bellrock Lodge is one of our favorites. You nearly forget, that you are at a self-service accomendation because everything is so thoughtfully done. It is worth staying longer, you can experience a lot in the area, walk to the beaches from Bellrock if you want to, get groceries and have great restaurants/cafés in town.

Location was fantastic!, accommodation was lovely and clean. beds comfortable, kitchen was well stocked i.e salt pepper foil , coffee machine, etc. cannot complain

Down to earth NZ offers an open-air bath and free private parking, and is within 22 km of Opua Forest and 14 km of Kemp House and Stone Store. The property features garden views and is 17 km from Haruru Falls and 24 km from Paihia Harbour. Guests can make use of a garden. We arrived late due to a problem we had and they waited for us to check in, the location was wonderful. We rested and had a wonderful time staying there. The staff was always very concerned about making us feel comfortable.

Beautiful location, peaceful and extremely clean. They greeted us when we arrived and had everything you could need or want available for us. It was great to relax in the hot tub at the end of the day enjoying the beautiful views.
