El Ryokan Hostel K's House ocupa un edificio de 100 años de antigüedad declarado bien cultural tangible situado en Shizuoka, a 7 minutos a pie de la estación de trenes JR Ito. El hostel es increíble. Una experiencia tradicional japonesa inolvidable. Fuimos a habitación compartida y hubo un problema con un huésped que llegó borracho, pero el personal del hotel lo resolvió rapidísimo y muy amablemente nos dieron otra habitación. El onsen es soñado. Me metí cuando no había gente y pude disfrutarlo yo sola. Incluso llovió y nos dieron paraguas y un aparato para secar las zapatillas. Super atentos. Vayan si o si!!

さかのみち-sakanomichi está ubicado en Nakatsugawa y tiene salón compartido, restaurante, bar y wifi gratis en todo el alojamiento. Excellent location right in Magome. A wonderful stopover as we walked the Nakasendo trail. The hosts, Ken and Yuki are super friendly, kind, and fluent in English which is rare in smaller hotels in Japan This small hotel is very cozy, the food is delicious and there is a small bar in-house which is great since there is not much to do in Magome at night. Rooms are spacious, traditional tatami and bed available. We had a very nice view of the mountains. Even though bathrooms are shared there are only a 5 rooms in the property, so not a lot of people and everything is spotless clean.

The location was perfect for getting away from the busy streets of Tokyo, though I highly recommend renting a (small!) car to get here, as it is tucked away from public trsnsportation routes. Our room was clean, surprisingly well equipped and comfortable. Service was spot on, communication with our host was easy and quick. We never saw any of the staff though, which made the quality of service just that much more impressive. We were the only guests staying here at the time, so we had all facilities to ourselves (an introvert's dream). There were plenty of instructions in english for all the general how-tos, check-in and check-out was easy using the machine. Prepare to face some bugs around the area, we had a few interesting encounters with moths by the entrance. The room itself was equipped with bugspray and deterrents, though we didn't need them as our room was perfectly wildlife free. The bug screen in the private onsen kept the bugs at bay, allowing us to bathe and sleep while enjoying the sounds and smells of the surrounding nature!

We absolutely loved this hotel. It's relatively small, so you get a lovely personal experience with kind staff and little treats like afternoon snacks and unlimited tea and coffee. The lounge-dining area is great to relax in after a day of sightseeing, with a view onto the little internal garden. Our room was fantastic; I chose a quadruple room to have more space. This was like a little apartment with its own lounge area, two double beds (plus two bunks above), bathroom with cedar tub, separate toilet and a nice view onto the garden. Perfect room for friends or family sharing. Modern interior design in charcoal greys, everything very clean and tidy. They will arrange breakfast for you from a local cafe, or you could bring your own to the dining area - there's a toaster, plates and bowls available. I didn't try their lovely sento bath, but we did use their handy coin laundry. The location is great, just 10mins from the station, then a bit less than that to the busy historic area. Lots of great restaurants nearby, as well as the 7-11 a few mins away. I would definitely return or recommend to friends!
